We were in the area and just randomly walked in for dinner and was very impressed! The food was very fresh and flavorful. I ordered the edamame which had this amazing sauce on it, the spider roll and the Rock Shrimp which were just as great! The cocktails were pretty disappointing.. didn’t taste much alcohol, but will give it another try because the sushi is so good.

We came here to celebrate my nephew’s 18th birthday. So we were a group of 16. The service was awesome even for such a big group. I ordered the wagyu short rib fried rice, and it was delicious. It had great flavor and was very filling. I also ordered the California roll, but others ordered more intriguing types of sushi which looked amazing. They told me the Rainbow sushi roll was exceptionally good. I look forward to exploring more of the Wheeler District area. Akai was a great place to start, so check it out!

A group of friends and I had an amazing evening here! We went on a Monday night and sicne we had a group, were allowed to sit in the dining area as long as we ordered at the bar. What an experience. Staff is incredibly attentive and kind and let us order a few items not on the Monday night menu as it was available. Every single food item we ordered was divine. Amazing drinks. Worth every penny. Their crispito tacos and the matcha crème brûlée were a true stand out to me. We also got to enjoy a run of Karaoke, which I hope they continue on in the future!

I love the selection of sushi. The nigiri was amazing. I liked the freshness of the seaweed salad. We had a saki flight and I was pleasantly surprised by which one was my favorite. I highly recommend trying it. They do not have a printed gluten-free menu, but the waiter has a list on his phone of what is available gluten-free. Ask to take a screenshot when you sit down if you need that. They tell me plans are in the works to actually print that out or modify the menu in the future. I love the style of the lights and the decor, but they should dim the lights just a bit. The music is upbeat and fun, but I would love something a little more vibey and downtempo to fit with the beautiful decor in the dining area. I didn’t use the bar, but it looks lively and there are TVs available to watch sports. It is on the backside of a wall from the dining area, so the TVs do not spoil the dining experience. If you’re looking for a romantic dim lit vibe, ask to sit on the far side of the room, the tables on the back side of the bar wall are lit with bright hanging lamps- great if you are trying to snap pics of your food. The matcha crème brûlée was delightful, but a small portion, so you might not want to share.

This was such a wonderful experience! I celebrated my daughter’s birthday there, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, and the presentation was truly a wonderful experience! Although it took a little while for my husbands meal to come out it was worth the wait!

This is the best authentic upscale Japanese restaurant we have been to here in the South. The Cook is from Nobu Restaurant in Chicago. AKAI restaurant air ships in their fish from Japan!! Flavors are right on. The Nobu Master Chef Checked to make sure his dishes were right on for two of his Japanese American Guests. Us! Awesome experience, wonderful food. Super fresh Nigri Sushi. Enjoy the pictures and my descriptions.

Nice chill ambiance. We were expecting more sushi on the menu, not as many rolls avaliable to choose from for what we’d like. Service was good up until we were forgotten about. Waited a lot longer than we’d like for the check (we had to ask for it). Quality of what we order was good tho. We liked everything that we ordered. It is more on the pricy side but I think the quality and restaurant vibe matched that.

This is an excellent Sushi restaurant in Oklahoma City. The ambiance is of fine dining with reasonable prices for the quality of food they are serving. They served us complimentary appetizers and shots are our meal . The bar tender had great energy and created a great vibe. This place is a must try. This is the best sushi I have had in OKC.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary here and as soon as we got to our table we were greeted with a pretty card and nice note which I thought was so cute! I’d say it’s hard to find really good service in the city most of the time but our server and everyone on the staff helping each other out were excellent. I believe Becca (so sorry if I spelt it wrong) was our server and she was simply the best on all service levels – kind, considerate, attentive, friendly, good timing, and genuine. The tables were just a little too close for my liking and the large menus taking up a decent size of the table overstimulated me a little bit. Now with the food – first of all, the A5 wagyu nigiri with the gold flakes was extremely delicious and it just melted in your mouth. Absolutely bonkers. The sushi rolls are experimental, fresh, and rolled very well (rice ratio is ). The sashimi platter? Wow, so well worth it. Great cuts of fresh and super clean fish. Also loved the yellowtail carpaccio, especially with the garlic crisps, it was citrusy and savory. However, didn’t care for the karaage chicken since it was dry and considerably small portioned. The Sake flight was a wonderful experience and definitely enough booze for just two people enjoying their dinner! That gluten free brownie with the matcha ice cream? Heavenly. Warm. Perfect dinner cap. We definitely splurged on our dinner and I had high hopes of having a good experience here and we had a great one to say the least. Absolutely worth another visit!
