Authentic, rich, and deeply flavorful, their birria is everything it should be and then some. The staff is friendly, professional, and impressively fast, making the experience even better. Prices are more than fair for the generous portions. The salsa deserves special praise—easily some of the best I’ve had—with bold roasted veggie notes that shine with every bite, especially paired with the thicker chips. The queso is smooth, mild, and perfectly balanced. From the quesabirria tacos and consommé to the rice, beans, and birria ramen, every dish exceeded expectations. AJ’s isn’t just good—it’s a place you’ll want to come back to.

The first time I tried AJ’s was back when the taco truck was parked in the Keg Room’s parking lot on West Broad. It’s been one of my top fave’s since. I love that they’re expanding and the menu items they’ve added at the new restaurant location. The inside is set up really cute, along with a small area for kids to play. The short ribs are AMAZING, lots of flavor and the perfect cook! The esquite isn’t pictured because we snacked on it during our short wait time, but I mixed what was left in my ramen and I highly recommend that combination if you get the ramen. The Birria ramen is delicious, the consome is packed with flavor. AJ was working the front taking orders and bringing the food to tables. The pricing was reasonable, $37 for short rib meal, Birria ramen, esquite, bottle of water and a can of sprite.

I have been wanting to try AJ’s Tacos for a long time! GLAD I DID! This food is incredible. The Guac OUT of this world. The Birria the best I’ve had since Southern California. Bartender was incredibly friendly and made the process a breeze. Keep up the great work! Will be back

The food was awesome. They serve Halal food too! We had 3 chicken tacos and AJ’s combo which came with damn good consomme. It’s a family owned place. It’s really bright and colorful inside. The owners themselves serve their customers and they are really nice and welcoming!

I’m from Houston TX close to the border and i haven’t been too impressed with many places here but i ain’t going to lie this place got a lil sum sum in that kitchen. From the chips and salsa which i might add was very good to the birria quesadillas and consome this place is the truth. I also got a corn with birria which i forgot to take a Pic of but that was good too. I’ll definitely be back

Cute and colorful when you walk in. Looks fun! I ordered 2 asada tacos and a melon agua fresca. My partner had the birria grilled cheese. The meat was tender in both and everything was delish. It was clean and the staff were friendly. Great casual spot.
