Since the early 80’s people have stopped to get great food at great prices. In our family since 1991, and on the 2nd generation we’ve changed things up but are still authentic to our history. In 2016, a series of events caused us to have to rebuild and while doing so, we renamed it after our 4th generation. With each generation we get better and better. We are committed to our community and all that comes with living in our great town.

From the moment I walked up, I got a sense of ordering was an inconvenience to an older gentleman with glasses. Can’t say if he’s a nice guy or not, but wasn’t a very pleasant experience from the very first time being here, ever. Upon my interaction with this person, I greeted them with standard pleasant trees, and normal ordering. Perhaps he was in a bad mood.

The overall ordering experience was a bit odd as well. Not bad, but not great. Just felt unwelcome. I hope the owner can take this critical feedback well. Overall the place is really cool. Well talked about with our company and always look forward to stopping here one day. However, due to my initial experience, I’m hesitant to tell other people or return, that said. He was polite to bring our food out and seemed fairly nice in the end.

Great place for a burger, food was really good. I had the fried chicken burger and loved the sauce on it. Fries were nice and crispy and well seasoned. I was told I need to try the shakes, next time I will.

We sat out side and watched the cruises ships and float planes go by.

Fun vibe with funny stickers, super friendly staff, and great food! The gentleman who helped me was funny, polite and quick to keep the flow MOVIN’ they are always super busy it seems! This place is GOATED. Burgers are flavorful, fries with tartar sauce are a must, and even bunless burgers are delicious. Gets busy, but food comes out hot and fresh! Keep up the good work guys!

A seemingly random burger joint on the side of the road that serves quick and delicious meals. Most people order ahead for takeaway. There are outdoor venues with views of the water but you’re exposed to the elements. Food was really good. We had the halibut fish and chips for roughly $30 – comes with 5 pieces and fries.

Cool little burger shack on Tongass Ave. Came to town for work, and was itching for a burger. It was closest to the airport. Burger and fries were absolutely phenomenal, and the staff were nice! Order at the window and they bring it out to your car. Honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in all of Alaska. If I come back to Ketch, I will be a repeat. You should too. Keep your standards high AJ’s. It’s an unexpected treat!

Hamburgers are delicious, but stuff is kind of blah. Not sure if you can comment on an atmosphere for a shack. Definitely worth having the food!

Oh boy, where do I begin? That Gilroy burger has me in a chokehold. Best burger I have ever had on the island. Never knew I needed garlic aioli in my life until I tried the Gilroy. These folks have crafted not only great food, but also a welcoming experience with excellent service. Even when the lines are long and the customers get hangry, I know they’re cooking up a good time.

This is formerly Rose’s Caboose and is now AJ’s Gourmet Burgers. Instead of a caboose it’s now an orange shipping container. It’s about a 10 minute drive north of downtown Ketchikan. If you are on a cruise, you could take a cab or try using the city bus for $2. They have both surf and turf options and has the cheapest bacon cheeseburger in town. You can eat along the water front at a picnic table or they’ll bring it to your car.

My daughter is working for Tongass Trading this summer and was excited to bring me here. It definitely looks like a local favorite. While waiting for our food we see lots of people who have apparently ordered ahead and have their food delivered to their car window.

If your wanting a “real” burger not a frozen piece of meat. This is your place. The food is made to order so it takes a few minutes for them to bring it to your car…… and yes he hand delivered it to our car!!! Talk about service!! Everything was delicious! I highly recommend the Hellboy and the deep fried zucchini…… kudos to this little burger joint! Don’t drive by it 20 times and find it on the last day of your trip like we did. Our mistake!!!
