Great spot for casual Japanese food in Houston! The yakitori selection is really good — especially the pork belly with enoki, scallop, and chicken skewers. The karaage is super juicy and crispy. We also enjoyed the katsu curry rice, unagi rice bowl, and ramen. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Prices are very reasonable compared to many places in the city. It also has a nice izakaya vibe, perfect for hanging out with friends and having a few drinks. Would definitely come back!

This will be by far the best place to go for amazing saki, appetizers, and ramen. The place is small, but spot on. We headed to the bar to get some baking and appetizers. Saki just like I like to have it, and the jalapeño appetizer omg, amazing! We asked to get a booth. Their customer service and understanding was great.
Once sitting in the booth, we got another appetizer and ordered our ramen. Everything was so flavorful and fresh. Will definitely be going again.
Thanks to the amazing host/waitress who made sure all of our needs were met.

Top customer service. Thai is very friendly and quick serve. Our fave is the squid ball. The Tonkotsu soup needs more flavor. The beef shoyu ramen is perfect. Good quantity inside the soup. We will come again.

I made the unfortunate decision to dine in this establishment when I was extremely hangry and upset. Instead of a fulfilling meal to feel better, my wounds were further deepened with sheer disappointment.

I ordered the unagi don (eel), and the taste of eel, corn, egg, and seaweed salad themselves were fine. The rice— the heart of the dish— was the greatest disappointment of all. The instant it landed on my tongue, my taste buds were swept by a distinct tap water taste above anything else. It was the first thing I noticed. Other than that, the texture of the rice felt like refrigerated rice that didn’t get enough microwave time.

My friend’s tonkotsu ramen had similar problems with texture and tap water. The noodles, overcooked and mushy; tap water potently overpowered the aroma of the broth and bamboo shoots.

On the brighter side, I concede that this place had a nice atmosphere. The decorations were lovely, clean overall, and the service weren’t lacking. Although I feel bad for them because they were severely understaffed— around 2 waiters for every table filled.

I got the Aji Tonkotsu Ramen and the soup had the potential to be great, however it tasted like tap water. The bamboo shoot just tasted like sponge filled with tap water. Also, the ramen didn’t have wood ear mushroom (kikurage) which is a classic topping in Tonkotsu ramen, and it was replaced with seaweed, that again, tasted like tap water. The noodles were mushy and overcooked and my food didn’t come out hot. My friend ordered the Unagi Don, and the rice tasted like it was cooked in pure tap water. However, I must say that we had very good service. We were always attended to and had speedy, efficient, and welcoming servers. It’s not 5 stars since we were sat right next to the door that blasted us with cold air every time it was opened (it was 55 degrees and windy). At least the appearance/atmosphere of the restaurant and the food presentation somewhat compensated for the sub-par food quality.

I recently had the chance to visit Aji Ramen in Katy, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best ramen spots in the area. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both modern and cozy. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and quick to make sure you feel at home, which sets the tone for the whole experience.

The menu is impressive and offers a wide range of ramen options along with appetizers and sides that perfectly complement the main dishes. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and it was outstanding — the broth was rich, creamy, and full of depth without being overly salty. You can tell it’s been simmered for hours to develop that authentic, comforting flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of bite, and the toppings were fresh and generous. The chashu pork practically melted in my mouth, and the soft-boiled egg was seasoned to perfection.

Beyond the ramen, I also tried their gyoza and takoyaki, both of which were excellent. The gyoza were crisp on the outside with a flavorful filling inside, while the takoyaki had that perfect balance of creamy and savory with the right toppings to bring it all together. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and balanced.

Overall, Aji Ramen has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Katy. If you’re a ramen lover or even if you’ve never tried authentic ramen before, this is the place to go. Great food, great service, and a truly satisfying dining experience every time. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite places to get ramen from.

The Ramen is not too salty for me and the Chicken Karage is always perfect.

I would also thank Thai my server/waiter for giving me excellent service he provided for me as well.

If you’re looking for a cozy spot with amazing food and great vibes, Aju Ramen is the place to be! We tried the Tan Tan Ramen and the Chicken Skewers Ramen, and both were seriously delicious.

The Tan Tan Ramen had this rich, spicy broth that was just the right amount of creamy and bold. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the flavors all came together so well I didn’t want the bowl to end. The Chicken Skewers Ramen was just as good—the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the broth had that warm, comforting vibe that hits the spot.

On top of the great food, the staff were super friendly, and the service was on point. Honestly, it felt like one of those places where you can just relax, enjoy your meal, and leave feeling happy. Definitely worth a visit!

Aji had a friendly staff with great food. Everything I had was great. The quality of the meat and the way things were cooked was great. I docked one star because it could have had a bit more flavor in the broth. Overall it’s well worth a try!

New favorite ramen spot- and i can be hard to please with ramen! The food/service was outstanding. Our server, Ty, was so sweet and accommodating. We really appreciated his good attitude and he even offered to take our picture because he saw us taking pics of the food haha. For the great quality of the food, the price of all that we got left us pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be returning frequently.
