The staff are great as well. They take care with every customer to make sure your experience is good.
They run out by 1 sometimes, and once theyre sold out, they close up shop. Lines are quick though and the selection is great each time I have gone.
I would recommend to everyone. I am very happy they are on kearny.
Staff was very polite, explained to me to have it in room temp for 30min for the best taste and offered me a pair of chopsticks & a bag. The shop itself is very simple and a beautiful space.
I enjoyed it at a park and the quality was excellent. From the packaging to the flavor, you can tell they really care about the presentation — visually, taste wise, and the experience too.
I was full half way (it’s also a large bento), but it was so good and I wanted to finish it while it’s still fresh, so I thoroughly enjoyed every scrape of it! Highly recommend 🙂
The presentation is great and the food was tasty. I liked the addition of the pickles for a bright contrast against each piece of fish.
When we got here there was a line but it took maybe like 30-45 mins from waiting to paying for our food. Very calm interior and straightforward ordering process. Would try again if spending time in the area or post shopping and heading straight home.
Chose Kaisen Don (L) since it’s my first time and I’m not sure when I’ll be back.
Told to wait 30-60 minutes before eating.
Took it back to eat in my hotel room. Uni and negi toro were my favorite. Wish there was more wasabi. Pickled veggies were really good, too. Didn’t need another meal for the rest of the day. (Just dessert, lol.)
Will try the 10pc Omakase Nigiri 6 Negitoro Maki Combo next time.
I’ve been to Aji Kiji quite a few times now when I visit SF.
It’s best to go earlier and wait like 15-30 min in line just so you can get what you want…otherwise they sell out!
For the value and quality, Aji Kiji is definitely a great spot!
Street parking only in the area.
SAKE DON (L)
I don’t know what kind of seasoning they put on the sushi rice but it is insanely good. It’s sweet and savory at the same time. Hands down the BEST torched salmon I have ever had. The fresh salmon is equally delicious and melts in my mouth. My mouth is watering just thinking about the salmon.
SUSHI 6PC & MAKI (M)
The nigiri was incredibly fresh and unique. Each piece had a delicate flower or flower-shaped radish on top as decor. I admire their attention to details. The maki was perfection.
The bentos are freshly premade each day. No modifications or substitutions are available. Do not come here hungry because it is high recommended that you wait 30-60 min before consuming.
It is on the pricey side but I personally think it’s very reasonable for the high quality. Strongly recommended if you like sushi.
My wife and I enjoyed the quality of the sushi and the maki, as well as the pickles. The lean tuna, flounder, striped jack, and salmon pieces we’re out favorites. Would recommend as a nice treat!
The brown rice was the main compromise in order to maintain texture, but I felt like it really really lacked the sweet/sour flavor balance that sushi rice usually provides. Something was overly salty and I wonder if it was the rice.
Overall I don’t think it’s easy to find that consistent quality of fish and variety at a better price point, but I prefer it as a single person lunch rather than a date night bc it will lack the experience.
