My family and I love my experience at thus restaurant. The food was great service was great. It’s clean restrooms are clean. Outdoor eating area and bar. The portion size is huge so bring your appetite. Will be returning.

Atmosphere: Dive Bar type of crowd. I went on a Wednesday and it was Local Comedian Night. I guess the joke was on me because no Comedians were funny and the staff seemed in a zone.

First time in many years since I was there. Sandwiches have changed a bit but still tasty! Our waitress was the best, wish I could remember her name she deserves extra kudos. I do remember that she was very pregnant. I got the mini reuben and my hubby got the full size reuben, my sister in-law and her wife both got the salad and I swear their eyes were almost as big as the plate they came on.

Every time we fly out of Detroit, we go to the W&R!!!! The food is amazing and ridiculously plentiful, the beer is cold, and the whole bill is so cheap! Sarah took great care of us tonight, as always, great food and service. I have to admit, I was super sad they ran out of the Cajun beef tips, hopefully next time, because we certainly will be back!

Can’t go wrong at Wheat and Rye. Portions are enough for two. Food is good. Beer is cold on tap and nice selection of bottle beer. When patio is open you can smoke out there.

I’ve been to other wheat and rye’s and mainly I enjoy anything related to steaks. However, here the only real options are sandwiches and well, not such a big fan..I tried the Reuben and it was plain good. Nothing magic.

I was there this past Sat with a group. We had place 2 tables together with 9 people and had another table of 4. The table with 4 said their waitress was great (even pregnant was still nice and fast). Our waitress let us know upfront that she would not split bills, and was adding gratuity. She should add a tip because with the service we got, the tip would not have been the greatest. She had an attitude for sure. The service was so raw that I could care less what the food tasted like. The bartender was very pleasant and made me a great cocktail, part of me thinks she seen how things were going.

The portions at this restaurant are overwhelmingly large, but thankfully, my dining companion and I shared them, successfully splitting the cost and making an attempt to finish it all. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The music was played at such a high volume that it made conversation with my fellow diners difficult, as we had to strain to hear each other. Additionally, the room was excessively air-conditioned, which made it quite chilly and somewhat uncomfortable. It would be great if the management could consider adjusting the music volume and temperature to create a more enjoyable dining atmosphere.

Great Food. My cousin recommended this place, and for once words can not describe this, I had a corn beef and it was perfect, better than Boston, I shared with my 92 grandmother, and she loved it. Zinger—- could not do what the cooks did here in a million years. Thank you Wheat & Rye. Anyone with something negative to say about this place, ITS YOU!
