Wow. This place is ridiculously good! The best way to describe is like having an entire bowl of amazing and most flavorful sushi minus the seaweed. Service is okay sometimes but more often than not these kids can be so rude for no reason
I don’t see this place being open for very long if they don’t improve the quality of their food. I will not be returning.
My favorite being Pokebowl Station from NYC.
Not sponsored but they’re usually generous in their portions and sauces depending on the borough.
And I’m in the area, where I’ve been craving some salmon and eel, so I came across this place to order.
I was totally caught off guard with the poke here with how surprising it was.
Eating from here made me sad.
For the price, it doesn’t seem worth it when you’re ordering it from delivery. (They upcharge in apps, there’s delivery fees, etc)
All the portions are small.
I think they’ve probably put in an ice cream scoop as their sizing.
The shrimps are small and slightly dried out/ old, they’re small frozen store bought ones at 1.25 inches.
There’s not enough sauce.
The salmon isn’t fresh.
(I would not eat this fish even it were sushi kind of quality)
The eel is only 1 piece, 3 inches in length.
The miso soup is.. alright. I don’t think it’s too hard to mess up with that because it’s miso paste and then the add ins..
However I would not be surprised if this were instant miso.
The tofu is extra firm rather than soft compared to the miso soups I’ve had over the years.
(Is this a west coast thing??)
I assume they use the same type of tofu cubes for one of the options in the bowl.
There’s also the thing about the types of scoops there are. There surprisingly isn’t too many vegan options unless you’re just chill with tofu. (The minimum scoops you have to order for a bowl is 2.)
I have no idea how they made the rice because it doesn’t taste like it was made in a rice cooker or they didn’t wash it?
I’ve never had microwaved rice so I have no frame of reference other than fresh rice.
Anyways.
If you’re a poke bowl lover, I would not go here to be honest.
You might be better going to a sushi place if you want your fish fix.
I would not call myself an aficionado, but I’ve had enough from different places to know what’s good.
was very good.
I went with two friends. They both love this restaurant so based on their experience, it’s very good I would go back, but I would definitely stick with the teriyaki chicken.
I had the messy tuna in the corner and it went well with some mango and edamame.
It’s a little expensive, but well worth the cost and wait in line. Sitting outside in great weather just made it all the better.
Keep up the great food!!!
From customer service to customizing my bowl. Freshest poke in town. Thank you!
