The pizza was thin and crispy well done char on crust. I have tried the Traditional Mootz, Bbq Chicken, and White Clam Pizza. The Traditional Mootz and Bbq chicken were great. I also tried the fried calamari which was delicious. Staff was friendly and food was great. Plenty of parking.

If you’ve got plenty of time, this place can work. The pizza is good, but be ready to wait 30–50 minutes for your order. Service feels slow and unhurried, so don’t come starving or in a rush.
Bottom line: decent pizza, but the long wait really tests your patience. Best only if you’re relaxed and have nowhere else to be.

Let me start by saying that I’ve been here 7-8 times over the past year.

I’ll say this place is wildly inconsistent in terms of quality and consistency seems to be worse lately in their new location.

I’ve had had the gamut of perfectly cooked pizza with sauce flavor just right (no mootz!) pie’s that will have you dying to come back.

On the other hand I’ve had pizzas that were wildly undercooked, chewy and the sauce was lacking flavor. Pizzas that were so overcooked the entire bottom was charred black and tasted awful. I’ve had pizzas that were not cut properly (pictured) and everything in between.

The last time I ordered a pie to go, I watched them cut the pie, they cut out a section straight down the middle about 1.5-2 inches! Directly from the center of the pie. Then they put together the two halves, sliced it and boxed it up for me..all while I was watching. The guy who cut it then started to eat what he had cut out! I’d like to mention that there was room in the box so it was irritating and perplexing to watch.

Overall they can make EXCELLENT pizza here, the problem is they need someone to run the ship so that every pizza comes out good. From my experience the odds of getting a ‘good’ pizza here are about 1 in 3, in other words 66% of the time it’s NOT good. When you do get the good pie it’s GREAT but the majority of the time it’s just ‘meh’ and for meh pizza it’s very overpriced.

I want to love this place because I’ve seen what they are capable of when they are on their a-game, unfortunately most of the time it’s the C game or worse.

We haven’t been to New Haven Pizza since they moved into the new building, and my husband and I were happy to see their business growing — we’ve always liked their pizza and wanted to support a local spot. When we arrived to meet a friend for dinner, we immediately noticed how hot it was inside. Turns out, the air conditioning was broken. We decided to tough it out and stay anyway.

We ordered two pizzas and a calamari salad. My husband had the pizza topped with broccoli rabe — he said it was just okay, lacking flavor and cheese. I tried a slice and thought it was decent, not too bitter. My calamari salad, on the other hand, was disappointing: bland, boring, and light on ingredients — just a few pieces of calamari, some lettuce, and dressing. Definitely not worth $16.

Even though the food was just okay and the restaurant was uncomfortably warm, we still enjoyed catching up with our friend. However, the experience took a turn when I noticed after paying that I was overcharged for my salad — $18 instead of $16. When I called the restaurant to point it out, the woman on the phone was curt and unhelpful, offering no apology and simply saying their POS system was wrong and she’d issue a $2 credit. It’s been over a week, and I STILL haven’t seen that credit ☹️

To top it off, our waiter had an attitude the entire time — especially when we asked for ice water because of how hot it was. Overall, very disappointed with the service, food, and customer care this time around. I really hope they improve because we used to love coming here. We’ve been coming here around 6-7 times over the years. Spending over $50 for 2 people for mediocre food and substandard service is a let down.

Ate a large white fresh tomato and basil pie. Every bite was crisp with a crunch and pop of flavors. Washed it down with a delicious cold peroni. Was met with a smile and a warm welcome. Much love Ah Beetz!!!!

This pizza was absolutely delicious. I may not be the biggest New Haven’t style person, but the pizza came out piping hot and full of flavor. The crust was nice and crisp and held up against its own weight. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, couldn’t ask for better. Food came out very quick and two pies was more than enough to serve 4 people. Don’t sleep on the salads as well!

Ahhh… New Haven pizza pie! 10/10 Deliciously blackened, satisfying, tasty, beautiful, flavorful, show stopper, ! Now this is a pizza pie place you must eat at. Coal fired oven burning 5 bags a day and giving you an unmatched charged crust and smoke flavor to keep you coming back. our pizza guide (waiter) was Chance and he was great. Super friendly, good conversation and guidance. We had a pepperoni, a margarita and a ckicken & meatball. Add the hot honey to order. Mm mm! It was an absolutely awesome experience. Thank you!

10/11/2025 update, we returned last night to their new larger restaurant adjacent to the original place. Jasmine was our server and she was very knowledgeable of the expanded menu. Imagine a half pepperoni with tomato sauce and a half chicken barbecue no sauce. So good. Now there’s plenty of seats in groups of four or greater can sit together. Something else we couldn’t help notice is that they don’t rush you out of there. It’s a good place and you should go for a unique Pizza Style.

I grew up in Connecticut on Pepe’s and Sally’s, so I am incredibly picky when it comes to pizza. I can honestly say Ah-Beetz is the real deal. We actually live about an hour away, but we happily make the drive just to eat here because it is absolutely worth it. It’s that New Haven style “apizza” that is hard to find anywhere else.

Beyond the phenomenal food, the service is just special. There is this lovely woman who is always there, come to find out, she’s the owners’ mom. She speaks so highly of her sons, and she treats the customers like family. A few months ago, we had a small hiccup with an order, and without hesitation, she gave us a completely free pie. You just don’t see customer service like that anymore.

She even went out of her way to get us a special table recently so my grandmother could get in and out of her seat easily. Great pricing, incredible pizza, and even better people. If you are in the mood for pizza, do yourself a favor and take the trip here.

Went on 1/20/26, PSL location. To be fair, I am New Haven adjacent originally and have eaten at the original Delray location a number of times.

That being said, the biggest factor in the food industry is, consistency and this place has it! I ordered the New Havener, which is my favorite and it is just like any I ever had at this small chain. VERY very tasty Perfect cook time. Excellent combination of sauce to garlic and pecerino.

Establishment is new, so its going to be nice and fresh. Staff is friendly. The team of owners are hands on, which I like. They day I went I saw Kass and met Tony for the first time. Both dynamite people who are truly interested in the feed back. The expansion is real positive. Best of luck in all the new ventures!

First good pizza we had in Florida after visiting for 20 years. Definitely tastes like Connecticut, New Haven-style pizza. Their wings are fabulous, cooked in the oven then grilled, they were tender and full of flavor. It’s so hard to find decent pizza in Florida, most taste terrible compared to what we have in the northeast. To find a place that makes it taste like home is a plus.
