I absolutely can not wait to come back!! Im so use to our local shop that this was a notch up from that. Instead of huge portions you couldn’t possibly eat, to this place that gives you the right amount. They seasoned everything to perfection and the wait staff was very patient with us.
We went out to lunch and fully enjoyed it. They had a 4 taco flight that we treated ourselves to. The chicken, steak, chorizo and birria tacos. All the meats were very tender and the side of guacamole was nice. It was our first time having thr birria tacos and we could have ordered another flight of just those! We will definitely try other options next time and will make it one of favorites.

If you’re looking for authentic flavors, Aguacates Mexican Cantina is the spot. The carne asada was the star of the show—perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. We also ordered a variety of tacos, and every single one was great. We started with the guacamole, which was super fresh and hit the spot. To top it off, the service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back!

First time here! My Son, friends and I came here to eat before the Rave amd we were all pleasantly impressed.
Our server was accommodating even to spend some effort to get the Penn State game on for me.
Most of us took the next day’s meal with us!

I came here with two of my friends, it was our first time. Our waitress was great. Shout out to her (she didn’t tell us her name). We all got various chimichangas, as well as calamari for the table (Don’t get that, rubbery and burnt). The chimis….. delish. The seasoning on both the chicken and beef was good. One friend also got the birria ramen, also fantastic. We will all be going there again.

Server was okay but the performance for marg tower was awesome! Food was amazing, huge inside! Update: 12/19/25 visited again because of the great experience last time but this time the tacos were well overcooked and came with onions which I specifically asked for none of them. I politely said “Can I have these redone since there’s onions and I asked for none.” The server replied that “they normally don’t want to do that” even though it wasn’t my fault. I asked for more cheese and sour cream sour cream, since I lost half of it because I had to take off all the onions, and still was charged $3 extra after the original sour cream and cheese charge.

We visited Aguacates on a Friday evening around 6 PM, expecting we’d have to wait a while, as you usually do most places. Nope – we were seated within 3 minutes of walking in the door, and had service ready to take our order within 10 minutes. Food didn’t take long at all to come out, was extremely fairly priced compared to other places, and was delicious. I got the Burrito Villa which was more than worth the price of admission. Our waitress was also absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be back here again!

The atmosphere is so fun and inviting, the food was phenomenal… I haven’t had Mexican food this good in years! The ONLY thing that I think is overpriced are their alcoholic drinks. I paid $12 or $13 for a standard sized strawberry daiquiri and my husband’s strawberry margarita was $15 (that drink was huge though). Otherwise, a great evening out!

If you’ve had authentic regional Mexican food, you may be prepared to give a skeptical side eye to any Mexican restaurant around here. But I found the food at Aguacate to be absolutely delicious and close enough to authentic. It’s literally the only Mexican restaurant I have been to in the area that serves napolitas (cactus). The portions are very generous (the fajitas are highly recommended). Be aware that most of the entrees sit between $20-$30 and appetizers are between $10-$20. It is not, at least for me, inexpensive. The restaurant is vibrantly decorated with warm colors and it’s very clean. I can’t say enough about the staff. Very attentive, accommodating, and welcoming. Every single person we interacted with was great. We went on a Saturday evening, and there are a couple of things that might count as a negative for some. The music level is loud and we had to really talk over the it to hear one another. The other issue is birthday celebrations. To their credit, the restaurant makes a big splash for someone having a birthday and ginormous margaritas. BUT, I lost count at a dozen times that the parade of about 6-8 staff members made the celebratory rounds. And when they do, it’s VERY LOUD. Didn’t bother me, but just be aware. Probably less of an issue on weekdays.
