Really good food. Not super familiar with Ethopian food. But seemed quite authentic based on clientele. The Injera was soft and soaked up the sauces really well with a good tangy flavor.
The chicken stew was very rich and flavorful. We had 4 of us and did the 2 person meat/veggie combo and added the chicken stew. We had leftovers but we’re really happy sampling all the dishes. Loved the collard greens and chicken and each lentil dish tasted unique. (Some restaurants you feel like you get the same flavors with different proteins, but not here). Definitely would recommend to others. Friendly service.

I’ve always loved Ethiopian food — the flavors, the spices, and the way it’s meant to be shared. No matter where I am, if I see an Ethiopian restaurant, I usually end up there. Seattle was no exception.
We came here with friends to Agelgil Ethiopian Restaurant in Seattle’s Central District, a family-owned spot just south of downtown. Seeing Ethiopian families eating here felt like a good sign right away.
I usually order the vegetarian dinner combo, which is perfect for sharing. This one came with misir wot (lentils), shiro, spinach, cabbage, collard greens, and salad, served on injera made from teff. The food was deeply flavorful and satisfying — one of those meals that keeps you full and happy for a long time!
Highly recommend if you’re in Seattle.

Just had dinner at Filmon’s – seriously packed, had to wait 20 minutes even with a reservation. The portions were huge for the price, which was great. My veggie combo was a little intense with the spices, but the injera was fantastic, super tangy. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, felt like a proper neighborhood place. Would have liked the injera to be a bit warmer though.

I recently visited the place at 2800 E Cherry St in Seattle and found a cozy, traditional ambiance with a simple decor that was welcoming. The place was quite busy during dinner, so there was some waiting to be seated, but it wasn’t overly crowded. Staff were friendly and attentive. The portions were generous—especially those greens in the meat combo—which made for great value considering the price. However, I noticed the injera could have been a bit warmer. Overall, a nice spot with authentic Ethiopian cuisine, though maybe bringing your own blanket would help keep your food warm!

Just had dinner at Filmon’s in San Jose – wow! It was packed, definitely a lively place. The portions were huge, seriously generous, and the price was good for the amount you get. The injera was a little cool when it arrived, but the food itself was incredible, really authentic flavors. The staff were super friendly too, felt like a real local spot.

As a person who has eaten at many different Etheopian restaurants across the united states, this place stands out. The portions were generous, the food was fresh, the flavor and spice on point. The price point while slightly higher than most of the Etheopian restaurants ive been to, seemed reasonable for Seattle.
I split the meat and veggie combo for 2 with a friend. We both have big appetites and still had enough food leftover for a personal meal the next day. I will definately be coming back.
Overall great value, exceptional flavor, good ambiance and clean bathrooms, what more could you ask for?

I can confidently say that this is the best Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle. I have been visiting for a long time, and over the last four years, the food quality, atmosphere, and service have remained unchanged… the consistency is amazing. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors that transport me straight to back Home, and the injera is always perfectly soft and tangy. The staff greets you like family, making every visit feel like a warm reunion. Even during busy hours, they manage to maintain a level of attentiveness that is hard to find elsewhere. I often recommend this gem to friends, and they always leave raving about their experience.

Had dinner here on December 12. First time having Ethiopian food. Tremendous. Had the vegetarian combo and the meat combo. The teff injera bread was go good and so different from anything any of the four of us has ever had. Boxed up what we couldn’t finish and mixed with eggs for breakfast the following morning. Still just tremendous. When back in Seattle in February will be back here again! Highly recommend!

Our favorite eithopian place in Seattle. I love that the meat can come spicy. Great portions and just amazing. I can’t wait to try more things.

Just had dinner at that place on E Cherry St in Seattle – really busy! The food was incredible, seriously huge portions for the price. I got the meat combo and it was bursting with flavor, definitely spicy as you like it. The injera could have been a little warmer though, maybe a quick re-heat? Definitely going back!
