I don’t know how this place gets anything other than 5 stars! We have eaten at many Mexican restaurants all over and this was THE best one ever! Food was amazingly delicious and the margarita was oh so yummy. Service was impeccable. The decor was gorgeous!

At 2:45pm EST we were seated at a booth at Agave D’Oro Mexican bar and grill. At first we noticed the temperature of the facility was warm and humid, like the air conditioning was not working properly. We then placed an order with our waitress around 2:55pm EST, I ordered the “pollo yucatan” which comes with grilled chicken breast, grilled veggies, guacamole salad, and rice. The food came out and was served to my party at about 3:05pm EST, which do seem super fast, but the food was hot, look good. BUT once I started eating, I only got about 2 bites of food when I saw a Living, Crawling Cockroach, crawl out from underneath the pile of Orange rice on my plate, it was about the size of a dime, I spit my food out immediately and killed the cockroach, on my plate with a napkin, my mother, who was with me, got up immediately to get a manager, by the time the manager walked back to the table I was sick to my stomach and needed to exit the restaurant as soon as possible. The managers didn’t say anything besides “I’m sorry” which felt very dismissive and not empathetic at all. so we immediately left. I then vomitted in the parking lot and to this point I am still very ill. This restaurant should not be operating, the lack of cleanliness and professionalism is awful, I will never be returning. I’m very concerned that this restaurant has an active pest issue, a cockroach that is alive crawling from the food I was literally eating is a SERIOUS health and sanitation concern.

Agave D’Oro: A Vibrant Fiesta of Flavor Worth the Wait

A full parking lot is often the most reliable sign of a restaurant’s quality, and Agave D’Oro validates this theory before you even step through the door. The bustling energy is palpable from the moment you enter, where a chalkboard of daily specials hints at the culinary delights to come. The transition from its former life as a Bennigan’s is remarkable, now exuding an authentic Mexican cantina vibe with vibrant decor and spacious aisles, a feeling further enhanced on weekends by a lively mariachi band that serenades guests from table to table. Service is swift and welcoming; we were seated immediately and presented with chips and salsa almost simultaneously. While the bar boasts an impressive selection of beers, the true star is the margarita menu, featuring generously poured, sizable cocktails that are both potent and delicious, setting a high standard for the meal to follow.

The menu delivers on the promise of authentic, well-crafted fare. My choice, the shrimp chimichangas, arrived as two perfectly crispy flour tortillas, generously stuffed and smothered with a rich cheese dip. It also has a generous amount of lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and tomato on the side to add your own favorites (it is not needed though), and Each bite was a delightful combination of texture and flavor. My wife’s taco salad, while appearing modest in its crispy flour tortilla bowl, was a deceptively filling and flavorful combination of shredded chicken, beans, and fresh toppings. Both dishes showcased the kitchen’s commitment to delivering hearty, satisfying portions without sacrificing quality, presenting classic Mexican-American comfort food at its finest.

Concluding our meal, the unavailable fried ice cream led us to a delightful alternative: the Tres Leches cake. It was a perfectly executed classic, providing a sweet and satisfying end to the evening. Despite the packed house, the service remained attentive, and while the high traffic was evident in the restrooms, it did little to detract from the overall outstanding experience. Agave D’Oro stands out as a must-visit destination, offering a fantastic combination of authentic, flavorful cuisine, a lively atmosphere, and exceptional value. It’s a genuine local gem that has earned its bustling crowd.

The full parking lot is a clear indication of what’s on the inside then we were in for a treat, because, This place was packed!!!
I actually had to wait for a parking space, there was a few small parking spots but they were too narrow for my truck because people over parked their space. Anyway, you’re not here to hear about the parking.
I placed an order to go for chicken fajitas with beans on the side and a burrito supreme meal. I was also ordered some chips and salsa. Major disappointment in extra chips and salsa, the flavor was outstanding but the quantity for two people is extremely small for two orders. The salsa container was not enough for one person and two full meals. And the bag of chips was very small the size of a lunch bag you would take to elementary school that was only a third of the way full. No remember I paid extra for more chips and . Moving past that. The food, the food was absolutely impeccable. Size portions were great, the flavor was on point and it was made exactly to my specifications. The girls out front are very charming and efficient. They also recommended that we grab dessert so we grabbed a cheesecake. It’s definitely a required taste and not something that we preferred. But our dinners were delicious. We were first time patrons of this restaurant but we will definitely return when in the area.
The restaurant was very nicely decorated with large, spacious isles, and a huge restroom. The restroom could use some freshen up, but like I said, this place was a packed house. I highly recommend Agave D’Oro. Real, authentic Mexican, food for a great price with decent servings.

Our group wasnct very impressed by Agave D’Oro. The skinny margarita’s were not good, the chimichangas were dry and overcooked, the tacos were pretty tasteless, but the guacamole was terrific as was the salsa. Probably not going back.

Lets start tonight’s discussion with i did not dine in, I carried out. My wife and daughters got burritos that were both dry bland chicken. My oldest daughter’s had about the first 1/4 of it be one complete peice of chicken. Again, DRYYYYYYYY! Then I get to my ginormous burrito. Looks FANTASTIC, tasted good at first, when it was just chicken and rice, then we got to the guacamole and toppings. I kid you not, my guac was already browning and watery BUT the chicken was respectable within whatever sauce that was, i just wish the whole experience was better. Maybe the food in house is better and the carry out blows but for this price point, yikes.

Amazing food and drinks.
We split the pineapple fajita (piña loca) and it was divine. Definitely enough food for two. The flavors were great and the meat cooked in the pineapple added so much flavor and texture. Wow. Margaritas are great here. Service was awesome. Prompt and helpful. Great night out. Thanks Ashley!!

We came in at lunchtime. It was a little slow, but it was a Monday. We ordered off the lunch menu. I had chicken fajitas. They were great! The meat was tender and seasoned just right. I would have liked a little more beans on my side plate just my preference.
