We arrived at 5pm on Fri Oct, 2025. I know it’s been months since I was there. I can honestly say this place has great Mexican food. Madyson ( with a y) was fantastic. The bar has access from the inside and outside and it was pretty busy. The restaurant was not busy but got busy in the hour we were there. House Margs were $6 and tasted great and actually had some rum in them. The chips and salsa were great, the salsa had a Smokey flavor from a chipotle/ paprika taste to it. The chips were fresh and were tasty. Madyson again was great. Our food arrived at 5:25 and my tacos looked great and tasted even better lots of flavoring in the meat. The Mexican rice tasted very good. Wife’s Adobo Chicken Chimichanga was delicious she said. Again Madyson was a delight. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been meaning to try Agave Bandito for weeks, and I’m glad I finally did. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, upbeat clean and fresh.
But the real standout was Shay. It’s rare these days to sit down somewhere and get genuinely attentive, friendly service without having to ask twice. Shay was knowledgeable, patient, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable.
Great food is expected. Great service is not and Agave Bandito delivered both. I’ll definitely be back.

Today my wife and I went to Agave Bandido and had a nice experience. We ordered barbacoa burritos, mine was the fried version and hers was the regular one. Both were good. We also had the guacamole trio. From the three options, I really liked only one of them. The others didn’t have much flavor.
My wife had a strawberry mezcalita, and I had a non-alcohol mojito, both refreshing. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful view of the lake. The atmosphere out there is really pleasant.
Our server Jaylene, from New York, was excellent. She paid attention to every detail and even brought us water to go, with a lid and cup, so we could take it to the car. That kind of care makes a big difference.
The food is good, the service is great and the place is beautiful. If you are in Lakewood Ranch, this is a solid option for Mexican food. The flavors could be a bit stronger, but overall we recommend it.

This was our first time eating here, happened to be Valentines Day. Wanted to try something new. Atmosphere was soo neat and fun, all the murals are hand painted in the restaurant. Got a table right away. Service was efficient and our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, hot, and good serving sizes for the cost. We had a beef burrito and chicken fajitas. Beautiful water views outside as well 🙂 Will definitely visit again ♥️♥️ highly recommend

The Happy hour was lovely and generous. I really enjoyed it & so did all my friends. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We loved him he was funny. The drinks were great and the mexican candy infused shots were delicious. The happy hour tacos were OKay i got 4 different kinds and the Barbacoa was the best , next time I’ll try a real meal !

My son was looking for Mexican food while we were in Sarasota, we googled this place up and thought it looked nice. The reality is that this is a trendy snowbird destination with very mediocre food that they call Mexican inspired. The wait staff was friendly but not very present, I had to go find our server to get our condiments. My churrasco was cooked to correct temperature, but was not a very tasty cut. I have enjoyed many different skirt steak preparations, but his was just not a great product. They served it with yucca fries, which i thought was an interesting idea. They arrived unsalted and essentially flavorless. My son’s tacos were fair and were at least a true Mexican dish. The spices were not great, and the tortillas were not fresh. The chips on the table were stale and chewy, sat around in the back for way too long. My wife’s chopped chicken salad was reportedly very tasty. We tried the chicharones + tostones. The dish was pretty tasty. Overall, this was a no repeat for us.

We recently moved from Orlando and decided to explore Waterside for the first time—so glad we chose Agave Bandido!
From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the energetic vibe and stunning architecture and design. The ladies at the front podium and their manager were incredibly warm and accommodating, setting the tone for a great evening.
Once seated, we were lucky enough to be taken care of by Shay—and wow, what a gem! Shay was everything we needed after a long day of moving and settling into our temporary apartment. Her personality was the perfect mix of fun, endearing, and just the right amount of spunk. Every interaction with her felt genuine and uplifting.
Shay truly made our first visit one to remember, and we’ll definitely be asking for her by name when we return (which will be soon!). We’re sure the entire Agave Bandido team is fantastic, but Shay was the star of our night.
Well done, Agave Bandido—you’ve earned two loyal new guests!
