Mi Jalisco is in this building and it’s great food!
liked them a lot until about a week ago when I very carefully, explicitly, and repeatedly asked them to HOLD two side items from my two person order, confirmed that they understood, and was instead given not only the side items I asked them not to give me, but an extra side order of both. That would be fine, except it turns out they charged me $6 for double rice and double beans, when I’d very clearly asked for half rice and half beans. Called to request a refund, got their machine, left a message, and was never called back. Every time I try to call again, it’s busy or just keeps ringing. Now I’m forced to dispute it on my credit card as if it’s worth the time and effort, all because apparently nobody there can be bothered to pay attention or treat their customers with respect.
I can’t complain about the food quality or taste, but at the very least you need to be wary and check your receipt before you leave the building, if you’re doing takeout. It’s also probably unfair of them to put a lady who clearly struggles with English on the phones most of the time, as they do.
EDIT: I tried another couple times after writing this, and got a busy signal the first time. Second time I got the manager, and explained everything that happened. She wanted me to come up there to show her the receipt. I asked if I could text it to her instead, because after all the effort and frustration, I didn’t necessarily feel that charitable about the idea of doing more legwork. Ultimately I just gave her some info from the receipt, and she processed a refund, but in the end had the unmitigated gall to tell me that next time, I shouldn’t wait a week or more to contact them, even after I told her I’d left a detailed message and been ignored, and had called multiple other times without being able to get through to anyone.
I was hoping that they would be apologetic and maybe offer a discount off my next visit so I could feel good about going back and eating there again (which traditionally I’ve done every couple weeks), but instead they showed no remorse and acted like they were doing me a huge favor by giving my own money back to me after some arm-twisting. I don’t think I’ll be back, as much as I’ll miss it.
