WOW, where do I start. My Daughter and Son-in-law treated his Mom and I to a Mother’s Day Tea. “Beautiful” Breathtakingly Gorgeous. From the time we arrived to the very end everything was perfect. There was a Lovely Lady playing the harp throughout the afternoon setting an elegant tone and ambience. The moment we arrived we were seated at a beautiful table and given menus with an introduction to the afternoon’s courses and choice of refreshments. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable, attentive and very polite. There was a wide variety of teas to choose from and the most tasty 3 course selection of appetizers, sandwiches and desserts. Each person received their own tea pot full of their choice of tea. Beautiful Restaurant experience.

Beautiful, vintage, romantic decor. Service was very friendly just a little slow, but they were so kind. Great mimosas and large portions – highly recommend the blueberry ricotta pancakes.

Unfortunately, my experience did not meet my expectations. Service was extremely slow with only 2 servers for a weekend service. It took over 45 minutes to get lemon for my water. Food served did not match menu(no caviar)and they were out of several teas. You kind of expect them to at least have basic chai tea when coming in for afternoon tea !?! This was my first time coming here and will probably not come back.

Me and my mom went to the Winter Wonderland Holiday Tea at the Westgate on 12/20. I have mixed feelings about how the whole experience went. We had reservations at 1pm (for the first seating during the event). We also had plans later in the day at 4pm, but we assumed that tea would not go on longer than 2 and a half hours. We were seated at 1pm, it took a little bit (not too long) for the waitress to bring out our pots of tea. The tea was great, and the setting was lovely (the lobby was beautiful). Shortly after getting our tea we then got a tray of tea sandwiches and 2 other savory bites which all tasted good. At this point it’s around 2pm. After finishing the sandwiches we are then brought out a tray with scones and berries (also pretty good). This is where it starts to get rocky. After clearing the tray and having the scones on our individual plates the waitress comes by and asks if she should take the (mostly empty) tray away, I say YES and start to grab the whip cream cup off of it (to put it on my plate to have with the scone), but then she goes “no it’s ok, take your time” and walks away without taking the tray. Now we sit a while longer with the empty tray at the table, then it’s 3pm and the dessert course still has not been brought out to us. I’m getting a bit anxious because we were trying to be out of there a bit before 4pm. I decide to flag the waitress down and ask for the dessert course, she then takes the empty tray away (finally) and says she will be back with the desserts. We wait a bit longer, it’s now 3:20 and I’m seeing other people who were seated at 1pm and 1:30 already done with all the courses, getting their checks and leaving before we even get our last tray of food. Finally the waitress brings out the desserts, they are cute and most of them are pretty tasty. I can’t finish them all so I need to ask for a to-go box, but it’s 3:45 and the waitress is no where to be found again. I end up going to the check in stand and asking, I also mention we need the check soon because we have plans at 4. Unfortunately it still takes a bit of time and we get our boxes and check right at 4pm, we quickly pack up and pay. There was also free ornaments included with the tea which I noticed the other tables getting but our waitress did not bring any over to us. I went by the check in as we were leaving to get the ornaments since they would have been forgotten otherwise. Lastly, we had our car parked in their valet parking and I was told it was $10 when parking for tea. We had pulled in to park at about 12:30 once we went out to get the car it was about 4:10 and the parking total was $18. We asked why and they said that it’s $10 for 3 hours, so we needed to be done by 3:30 to get the $10 parking price. I was a bit disappointed with that too, since I expected to be done by 3 or 3:30 but with the slow service it caused us to pay more for parking and be 20 minutes late to our dinner plans with a friend we were visiting.

We went to the Westgate hotel for mother’s day brunch and we were not disappointed. They have American dishes, among other dishes, all carefully crafted. I am eager to share this review because, pre-COVID, the Westgate had a mother’s day buffet brunch. This buffet was one of the best buffets our family has ever enjoyed. It had a wide variety of foods, traditional and non-traditional breakfast foods, with many stations. The decor is classical European and the food was carefully arranged. This brunch we had to order a la carte and the food was still delicious– we left happy. Westgate, please bring back the buffet (when it is safe).

Very chic upscale restaurant with fresh table flowers and actual silverware. The brunch wasn’t to expensive either. Expect around 25 dollars a plate. It might feel uncomfortable to ware anything less than dinner attire even to know it’s in a hotel. Actually the second you walk into the hotel you might feel under dressed. Grab a bottle of wine and enjoy.

The atmosphere is impeccable. It was only one server so the timing was off. The tea was watered down after the first course. It was great that they accommodated my gluten free and dairy free needs.

I’ve been coming to the westgate for tea for years it’s unbeatable when it comes to the gourmet sandwiches the petite desserts, the atmosphere of the chandeliers and harp player the elegance is unmatched. I did get a marshmallow as a dessert but Sonnie brought me a macaron in replace <3 services is outstanding. The tea is loose not in a bag for anyone who is wondering.
