The Afternoon Deli has the best food! My favorite is the Mezes & Pitas with a side of Falafel. Eating “a little of this and a little of that” is my favorite. Today I tried something new – a tuna melt with fries! The sandwich was too big to eat in one sitting, so I packaged up the other half and half the fries for tomorrow. So yummy!

Such a cozy atmosphere! So glad that the Afternoon Deli has vegan options. The vegan burger menu is very helpful. I would love to see a vegan sandwich menu posted as well. Sometimes, I don’t feel like a burger and would like to order one of the sandwiches. However, they’re only listed under vegetarian, so I’m not sure if the sauces on them or the bread they come on is vegan or not. Whenever I ask the staff member working the cash register these types of questions they are unsure. Would be awesome if this deli could make a special side menu for vegan sandwiches in addition to the burgers to make it easier for everyone!

I love this place but every time I get fries they’re soggy and not cooked covered in oil. No refund nothing not worth it. Tired of spending 15$ and getting an uncooked side.

This is the best spot for a pastrami rueben sandwich and they’re open during all the construction next door except Sunday and Mondays. I also recommend the hibiscus tea ☺️

Ordered Afternoon Chicken Clubhouse ($10.25). Yum! My first time here and the service plus food are awesome! The sandwich was not skimpy on any ingredients (especially avocado!). Bacon is crispy and the chicken tender. French fries remind me of Give Guys. Slightly crispy but mushy on the inside. Very tasty.

I get a hankering from a sandwich every now and then and when I do I come to Afternoon Deli. They have many amazing options, but I just get a deli turkey sandwich on gluten-free bread toasted with a bag of chips and it’s so damn good. First of all, most GF bread sucks. Theirs does not. The quality of ingredients is apparent, which I also appreciate very much. It’s not much to write home about from an ambiance stand-point but I don’t care and find it a little charming. The folks who run it are present and engaged—you can feel the love in the food.

That’s why I always save my fries for last – not only are they the tastiest fries in Nevada County, they also help ease the pain of missing that delicious sandwich .
