This was our first time visiting African Soulfood. Courteous staff, great ambiance, and minimum wait time. The plates shown below were the senegalese yassa chicken with rice and the mbuzi wet fry goat with plantains. I wanted my goat extra spicy. Believe me, the spices along with that delicious gravy will clear your pores. A great dining experience. We will be back.

I had an amazing meal here. The meat was perfectly tender and flavorful, sautéed with onions and spices that tasted fresh and authentic. The greens were rich and well-seasoned, and the rice balanced everything out beautifully. You can tell the food is cooked with care and real home-style technique, not shortcuts. Warm service, generous portions, and one of those places you immediately plan to come back to. I felt very much like home. I had the mbuzi (goat) dry fry! Outstanding, everytime. The drink was also so refreshing and delicious.

Our first time trying African food. Customer service was great with Faithful. Food was served hot. Atmosphere was inviting. Enjoyed the suya, beef samosa, egusi and fufu. My husband loved the goat and lamb with cheb. Worth the hour drive. Our kids also tried and like it.

Honestly i love their food, this is the only time i was disappointed in the okra soup. It’s my go to food. The entire soup was not edible. The okra was stringy, like stems. Like literally it was the entire container. It was impossible to eat. So i had my fufu and suya since i ordered that as well. I didnt call because i ordered through grubhub and new it was to late to order again. It happens and i will still see you next time.

Had a great time at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was great, our server, Rae, was very attentive and the owner came by to make sure that we were taken care of. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, and the DJ/music was a nice vibe! All the meat is halal with the exception of the sausage there are vegetarian options!

This was a very nice restaurant. The food was great. The aviance was very nice. The waitress, Rae was very kind and was willing to explain the menu to us. And was willing tell us what each meal had in it or was made with. This was very different for us. We will do it again. This was a very unique experience and we loved it.

I highly 10/10 recommend! African Soulfood was kind enough to host our gathering in their beautiful establishment, and EVERYTHING was amazing!
Food: Mama Carol, the owner, had an endless buffet of grilled chicken, Egusi soup. Maharagwe (vegetarian stewed red beans), Jollof rice, chep rice, steamed cabbage w/ carrots, fufu, plantain, chapati (Roti style bread), and Mandazi (African donuts). The food was fresh and tasted amazing! This is easily the best Egusi and Jollof I’ve ever had. The Maharagwe and Chapati were the star of the show for me. Absolutely Delicious! The Mandazi has a hint of nutmeg flavor that I love and made for a great dessert. Everything was delicious! Everything was delicious!
Service: The entire staff was very kind, accommodating, patient, and hospitable. Servicing a large party can be a heavy task and more people showed up than expected. The staff didn’t sweat it at all. They immediately prepared drinks and had everything prepared and ready to go for the buffet. Special shout out to Faithful who ensured the buffet stayed full with freshly prepared options, and Mama Carol for preparing the feast!
Atmosphere: The restaurant is beautiful and quite large. They were able to host all of us and still serve other guest. There was nice music playing at a reasonable volume and the lighting dimmed a bit as the night progressed but not too much which made for a good conversational vibe.
Overall: I 10/10 recommend especially for events and small dining! I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of service and delicious food. I will be back!
