I can’t even describe how good this food is! I had the Edward’s Special on the menu. (Beans & plantains, with collared greens and beef)… and these yummy sweet fried dough balls! Shut Up! OMG! So good! One order is big enough for two meals for me. $21… a good value!

We knew the food was good when we had to wait for it. Great stream of customers in and out. No one stayed long enough to overhear the drama we were hashing out. Fantastic food. Stained my jeans, but I don’t care. I’d eat it nude if I had to. I’m coming back for the Egusi, fully clothed.

This was my first time in African deli I was greeted, and the man took the time to explain to me the difference between two dishes that I was looking at. I was very pleased with the customer service. I ordered the fried red kidney beans with fish and oxtail, which I had to pay extra for the oxtail, no problem, then I got some Jollof rice and I got some puff puff and a hibiscus pineapple tea. Each meal that I ordered was $13. I don’t know how much extra I pay for the oxtail or how much the puff puff was because I didn’t get the itemized receipt that I asked for they just gave me a receipt with the total of $40.16 on there (just to give some context on pricing). I ordered the tea later, it was $4. Grand total spent, $44.16. I was super excited about this food. When I got home I tried the jollof rice, it tastes like nothing but aluminum can tomato sauce, and the fish was okay. My fried red beans didn’t have the mild spice as requested but they were okay. The puff puff was slightly chewier than I am used to but they were okay too. All in all, I may give it a second chance because it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t as flavorful as I am used to when it comes to African Food. 6/10

I had a bad experience w/ African food before this place and I was wary but oh my gosh, this place is SO good. I literally ate it for nearly 2 weeks straight I always get the spinach with turkey necks and pepper sauce on side. So delicious and flavorful. Now I’m showing all my friends & family this place. Just wish they weren’t closed 3 days out of the week

It was just ok. The food was good but the meat was like jerky and it lacked flavor and they charged $2 extra . We got potato greens and peanut butter spinach soup with boneless chicken and shrimp also corn bread, that was no good. Not sure if I’ll make the trip back

If ONE ORDER of sambosa comes with TWO PIECES, then you should be able to COMPREHEND that when I ask for TWO ORDERS of sambosa that would mean FOUR TOTAL but yet I was told I need to ask differently…. So for the second or third time now I am only getting one order of it no matter how I ask. It’s annoying especially when you need enough food to feed your family and you do not live in the area. It would be nice if you could kindly update your customer service skills. Thanks.

My spouse got food from here couple days ago nd it was a disaster! The only thing I could say was edible to some extent was the meat pie and the Amala, and that was after I had to personally season the stew for the Amala, there was 0 spice nd flavor to it, the meat tasted ok tho. The ofada he got had stones in them! I mean with every bites! That is ridiculous considering the amount of money he spent getting all these to bring them back 3hrs, almost 4hrs away! And he got like double of everything considering there was he nd I.
The sauce for the ofada had no spice like ofada sauce should and no taste! The fish roll was tasteless, had great smell tho but no flavor. I did not even bother trying the egg rolls cause it was probably a disaster too with just boiled eggs.
I have been a customer at this restaurant for a long time, I even introduced my husband to the store nd I’ve always tried understanding when food did not tastes good but this was too bad!
How could someone sell that to customers paying money, I’ll say the ofada was the last straw for me! If you gonna sell ofada atleast pick them right or don’t sell them. Chewing on that much stone is ridiculous nd dissatisfying.
I wish I could get a refund for all we got cause they were not edible nd we ended up trashing most of them.
UPDATES: I do know what ofada rice should be and smell like! I never complained about the smell cause I am very familiar with how ofada rice should smell and I love the smell, I’m a Yoruba girl! But the stones? I know so well it can never be fully picked but it shouldn’t have that much stones or dirt in them With every bites! I ate ofada growing up nd you cannot tell me it’s supposed to be like that or maybe we were just more intentional about picking them right cause I didn’t chew on stones with every bites and have tasteless sauce to it! Maybe if the sauce was any better I would have gratefully ate it with white rice but it wasn’t.
I’ve been to different restaurants nd I try not to complain cause I understand how hard it can be selling food nd there are bad days as well but this wasn’t the first bad food experience we’ve had with African deli also considering we drive so far (3-4hrs) just to patronize you guys and I’ve never left any reviews cause something at-least tasted ok or edible nd was fixable. We’ve been a customer for over 3yrs! If the ofada didn’t have that much stones, I’ll have probably never left any reviews and just fixed the tastes myself but it was unfixable.
Such great customer service you got telling a paying customer to stay away from food they love just cause of your inadequacy nd unaccountability. Do better nd I’ll definitely be going somewhere else!

Today was my first time eating here. And man I tell you the beef and chicken samosa was on point and as for the beef kebab. It was delicious. I hope the next time I go back the food is good as today. Thank you for the delicious food

As a business and to the person who takes orders over the phone, try humbling yourself. Confirming the order and LISTENING will avoid the disappointment the customer might get once they get home and realize their order is wrong. Since it keeps happening I won’t spend another dollar.
