If you want the best tasting food from the good old days. This is the place at Aesy’s.
I order the double bacon cheeseburger with fries and my wife got grill chicken sandwich with fries.

Immediately greeted by two very kind people from behind the counter. I’m assuming they are the owners. Nice clean diner style place. Simple comfort food menu. Delicious breakfast — we ordered eggs, bacon and toast to go. I’ll definitely return to try a lunch item, probably a cheeseburger FYI the veggie boxes on the seats are to keep your tootsie from getting cold LOL!.

Charming, old fashioned grill restaurant. The noon closing time seems not to be hard rule, more of a relief valve if it gets too busy at lunchtime.

A mom and pop restaurant that is easily missed in downtown Roanoke. I am glad I stopped by to eat. What I had was a the Aesy specialty – Bologna sandwich with egg and cheese. That sandwich came in a burger bun and it is huge! And it costs less than $3.50. This is a great place. My only suggestion is to go in either on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as they are really busy on Fridays.

This is a wonderful and nostalgic place. Unfortunately the food takes so long that I can’t go here on my lunch break, and they aren’t open for dinner, so I can’t go very often. When I do go, the owners are always very welcoming and the food is great

This place is AWESOME! Met the owners that run an amazing old school diner. Staff is very friendly and clean. Must haves are the burgers and the Jumbo drinks with free refills! Food is so classic yet delicious. Love this place will be back!

Great little mom and pop restaurant that’s been around for 70 odd years. Had the 1/4 pd hamburger and it was really good and quite large. They’re sweet tea is really good, reminds me of the sun tea my dad used to make growing up. The deco on the interior looks like it’s been there since the restaurant opened in 1948, and I like that. The server was the third generation Aesy.
