This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some quality, authentic, delicious Italian food with amazing service and ginormous portions. We truly couldn’t believe how big each dish was and how generous their portions were. We started with calamari which was lightly fried and served with their amazing, flavorful marinara sauce. We both ordered meals from the specials list. I got the sea bass filet and my husband got the seafood pasta fra diavlo with loads of different fish including salmon, swordfish, shrimp, scallops and I can’t remember what else! My sea bass was HUGE with a whole lot of spinach on the side. For dessert we had a cappuccino, cannolis and creme brulee. It was all amazing!!

Don’t judge the place by the outside/view from the street. I’ll be honest, it doesn’t look great driving up but just look past all that and go inside for an unforgettable dinner.

For reference: We drove 2 hours from NJ to come to New Haven for the day. Our purpose was to try Sally’s/Franks but after trying Sally’s and being disappointed, we ended up here for some truly outstanding Italian food. We were beyond full but still went to Franks after

We went back to Adriana’s for a family birthday celebration and were surprised to find the menu had changed a bit but the food was good as usual and the portions very very generous. The service was slow and although the waitress was sweet and apologetic she forgot drinks and brought things we did not order.
Overall we had a great time and although we did not get a happy birthday song from staff the people in our dining area made the evening great.

10 out of 10! Frank was our server and he was so attentive and gave great recommendations. To start, we had the baked oysters with crab, sausage & broccoli rabbe, steak carpaccio. All were delicious. Honestly this was the best meal I’ve had in awhile. The service is impeccable and the food is fresh, homemade and DELICIOUS.

The fish specials looked great but I got the creamy pappardelle with lobster- it was flavorful and we’ll enjoy the leftovers but there is not very much lobster meat. The Caesar salad was not good: it was basically a plate of cheese on top of white crunchy romaine. Husband enjoyed the meatball app. We had the pistachio cake which I found rather tasteless- should’ve gone for the limoncello. Coffees were very good.
Service was excellent and I appreciated the linen, candle and reasonable noise level. I found the tables really jammed together (and no where to put coats).

I’ve been here before and always had a great experience. Today was definitely different. Our waiter dead not attentive at all. He gave vibes of Stereo typing. Not sure why. We are decent well dressed human beings. We had shoes on.
He really never came to check on us but he checked on another table that wasn’t his. Go figure! Who knows what was going through his mind. One thing I will say is that I normally top very well in cash but he got the bare minimum that the industry says it should be and on my card so it will be taxed. Oh well next time pay attention!

The entree serving sizes were very large! Can be shared amongst two to three people.
However, the food was mediocre. The pasta was extremely bland. The ribeye lacked salt and was fattier than anticipated (for a ribeye). We didn’t like the blossoms. We did, however, thoroughly enjoy the lamb, calamari, and fried mozzarella.

Our server was very friendly and provided recommendations – she had great knowledge of the menu. She was very sharp and had an amazing attitude!

The atmosphere was quiet as we visited on a Tuesday night and were the only party seated in our area. I wouldn’t return based on the food the day we visited. But I would recommend based on the serving sizes and the quality of service provided. There’s also plenty of parking in the free lot outside.

Excellent Italian restaurant in CT! There are a ton of specials to choose from, including burrata. The portions are massive so definitely be ready to share or have leftovers. For the price it’s great, and drinks aren’t that expensive either. Service is quick and friendly. Parking is plenty and free.

The meatballs were old, and very dry, they were almost tasting burnt . It being an Italian restaurant, I would think we’d get served FRESH MEATBALLS. AND ALSO. We were served boxed mashed potatoes. And I know my stuff. Not only coming from a family who has always eaten amazing food growing up in New Haven, Connecticut BUT coming from a family of CHEFS. We know old and boxed foods. For a “so called” upscale restaurant, I expected top notch Italien food. But hey, you can’t always get what you want. Please Adriana’s step up your game and serve EVERY CUSTOMER ALL FRESH FOODS. Because just throwing good sauce on top of old dry meatballs just won’t cut it. We didn’t have to wait for a table because we had reservations.

Monday night and an awesome dining experience here at Adriana’s! The fresh chopped veggies and bread were delivered as soon as we were seated. The bread was out of this world and the veggie medley I’m olive oil and herbs was fresh and very tasty.

Out appetizer was stuffed squash blossoms which were 10/10! Awesome cheeses and herbs stuffed inside of a fresh squash blossom that was perfectly fried! Add some of the side sauce with a bite of the squash blossom and you get near perfection.

Entrees were spectacular. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect rare as ordered and the crust was awesome! Potatoes and veggies were very good too but the star was the ribeye. The best steak I have ever been served in the New Haven area in 38 years! The shrimp and clams fra diavolo over fettuccine special was spectacular ‼️ Fresh pasta, insanely good sauce with beautiful little necks and snappy shrimp.

The meal was served by an awesome waiter who was very attentive, friendly and accurate.

This meal was a 10/10!!
