Ok, I am so glad that this place exists for Rapid City! From the outside you wouldn’t think much of the place, and once inside, it would look like an old cafe. Very simplistic atmosphere, but I feel this is where the charm of the place is. The owner Deloris “Pauline” Nicholson is just the sweetest person ever and is very generous when dishing out proportions! Now just because the atmosphere doesn’t look like much doesn’t mean the food matches! The food is outstanding. From the Jerk Chicken (My Favorite) to the cabbage, rice & peas (peas are actually beans they refer to them as peas) to the stew and gravy is just delicious. Be aware that the chicken will usually have bones in it due to the cooking of it. The meat just comes off easily but in case you or your children want to give this food a shot be aware of the bones! Now I know some of the reviews say she is overpriced. Here’s the thing though, you get what you pay for! The price is quite adequate for the quality and quantity that you are getting for it. I usually come here about once a month at least to help support this place. She deserves at least once a week in my honest opinion! This is one of those rare gems that you will find in Rapid City buried behind a non-flashy exterior. Give it a shot, you won’t regret this place. Truly worthy of your time and money!

A great hole-in-the-wall kind of place. Very friendly lady working there. We ordered ox tail stew and jerk chicken. The portions were generous and the food delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Rapid City.

Delicious food! I had the ox tail and my wife had chicken. My only suggestion is to play some kind of music in the background. Me and my wife went in for an early lunch, and it was dead silent. Not a deal breaker by any means, but it would have been “the icing on the cake” if you will. We will definitely be back regardless.

Ordered a grub hub. They plate it when you arrive, so I’m not sure why it took 45 minutes for them to ready the order on the app. The curry goat is not spicy at all. The rice and beans, as well as the cabbage was ok but bland. Worst of all you get very little meat. Basically, I paid $16 for rice, cabbage, potatoes, and a few small pieces of goat.

This is an excellent local place with great service and food. We are visitors to Rapid City on vacation, and this place may not look like much externally, but internally, which is most important anyway, it is a treasure in Rapid City. The food and staff are wonderful! I got the curry chicken with beans and rice, and my wife got the brown beef stew with beans and rice. Portion sizes are great. The meat literally just falls off the bone. The cabbage and vegetables which comes with every dish is phenomenal.

We went there for dinner one day prior to going to Mount Rushmore and let me tell you one thing- if you want to feel the taste of home cooked food as well as want to try out Jamaican cuisine for the first time I’d definitely highly recommend this place. Hands down the best home cooked Jamaican food I’ve ever had. I wish I could go there frequently. The lady that was serving there was such an amazingly wonderful person, all my friends including me felt motherly affection from her. She’s an extremely caring and nice lady. We love how kind and generous you are ma’am. And best oxtail I’ve ever tasted

I’m giving the atmosphere five stars because of the authentic feel of the place. Not fancy at all. Makes you think that you could run into this establishment in Jamaica itself. Food is divine. Such a lovely and amazing little restaurant. Rapid City is incredibly lucky to have this treasure.

I went to this place every day for the entire week I was in S. dakota, as a Jamaican, I can say this is one restaurant that reminds me of grandma cooking, I haven’t found a jamaican restaurant quite like home until I went to this one. Hats off to you, Ms. Pauline. A job well done. this place is absolutely clean from the bathroom to the floor. Love it respect!!!

I had the lamb curry . It came with rice and vegetables. Try out their Jamaican cream soda. I enjoyed everything i got. The food here is very flavorful. On the other hand, there is a long time to wait for your food to be served from the time of ordering. I recommend this place and will be a returning customer.
