I ordered fish and chips, rice pudding , and a large milk on uber eats just now. I wanted to give 5 stars across the board because the food was good but I had issues with my order.
Fish and Chips: How come you only give 1 tartar sauce cup for a fish and chips platter? 1 was barely enough for one of the fish pieces. You gave me 3 fish pieces. 1 tartar sauce cup is not enough. If you have given two I’m not even mentioning this. I think it’s completely unreasonable to give someone 1 small tartar sauce cup for an entire fish & chips meal. Other than that it was good.
Rice pudding: I ordered rice pudding but it wasn’t in the bag. I was excited to eat that. I got a refund on uber eats.
Large Milk: I’m paying $4 for a cup of milk. Can you please fill it to the line next time. Thank you.

Great traditional east coast USA Greek diner food! If you crave liver & onions like I do, this is the place! Also great salad and dolmas and gyros. Lovely, welcoming staff.

I love diners and this was my first time at the Acropolis. We were meeting a friend there for supper. This was a nice place to do so.
The Acropolis is a cozy place. It is full of warm brown wooden booths, with a few tables. The ladies who were working were very friendly and accommodating – we were unable to use a booth and the hostess kindly let us move to a table. We were there around 7 p.m. and the diner was quiet, although there were a few other people in the place. This is not a bad thing at all.
The Acropolis has a pretty decent and varied menu including burgers, soups, sandwiches, and breakfast items. I got the Greek burger with onion rings while my fiancé got a club sandwich. One friend got French onion soup and another also got a burger.
My burger was very good – it was dressed with feta cheese, tomato, tzatziki sauce and pickle. Along with the onion rings, it came with a small cup of cole slaw. The portions were very good – I ended up getting a to go box and had plenty left for a second meal.
The Acropolis was pretty decent price wise as well. Once the tip was factored in, four people ate for about $90.
I love diners and the Acropolis is a great example of a classic one. You can’t go wrong here if you want good food and a quintessential diner experience.

I ordered a beef gyro. It was served burnt, dry and unseasoned. When I called to share my experience, no one was available and I left my number. I never received a call back. When I followed up, they said, “Oh well. It is what it is.” Spend your money elsewhere.

Classic diner but if you want fries? This is the spot. If youre like me and loved getting a basket of fries as a kid at your local baseball game then youre gonna leave Acropolis very pleased. The smell alone brings me back to better times in 2008. Average coffee and good milkshakes too.

So I’ve come to this diner for the past 30 years on and off, as I’m from Hamden. Food is good but service leaves a bit to be desired, even though we were one of four couples in the entire place at lunchtime, two sandwiches took over 15 minutes to get served. By the time the food came, we had a few bites and had to go. The waitress was very friendly though. I have to give props where deserved!

I’ve been here before for takeout. This time me and my boyfriend decided to dine in. We both wanted chicken and waffles, but we wanted to substitute for the French toast. I’ve had chicken and waffles before and it was nothing like this. I have never ate chicken tenders, and French toast before. we both were completely appalled when the plates were sat in front of us, but just ate the food anyways because we were already struggling on what to eat. 7/10 for the food… $32 all together and we both got the same thing… next time just make it at home.

This place is DISGUSTING. We ordered food through doordash and their menu on doordash forces you to order additional items and CHARGES you for them. They didn’t send the complete order and were so rude and unapologetic when we called. Then, when we finally opened the food to eat the bread was MOLDED. Utter disgust and dissatisfaction with this place.
