Oh WOW! Great local seafood restaurant! It was cold rainy night, so it was less crowded. The building is not fancy, but I like that. Antique lights and shiplap walls give a good ambience.
The service was nice. The food came pretty quick. Nice and hot! The wife and I got the “Always local shimp” and the “Newfound scallops ” and split the two between us. Nice portions. A nice touch after we ordered the waitress came back asking “Fried or Sauté “? We got both sautéed. Fantastic! Fresh hot! Buttery!
Thank for a wonderful evening! Not cheap but it Charleston and it’s fresh and VERY Good…$80 (with tip).

If you’re looking for the best shrimp and grits, look no further than the Acme low country. Excellent service surpassed by the grits and shrimp dinners. Generous portions, and you can mix and match any of the shrimp and grits varites..nice beer selection. Its clearly been around a long time, for good reason.
Just go.

Wow, the shrimp and grits “Lowcountry” style was amazing. The shrimp were fresh and the grits were delicious. Also had a great old fashion. My wife had a delicious combo of the best crab cake ever, scallops and shrimp. Server was friendly and very good. She wasn’t pushy when we hung out a little after we ate. Thanks for the fantastic hospitality!!

Stopped by Acme Lowcountry Kitchen recently and left really impressed. The shrimp and grits absolutely live up to the hype — rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I liked that there were multiple options to choose from, so you can try something a little different from the usual without feeling locked into one style. Portions were generous and filling without being over the top.
Service was warm and attentive the whole time, and the staff made good recommendations. They’ve also got a solid beer selection that pairs well with the food, which was a nice bonus. The place has that comfortable, established feel like it’s been a local favorite for years.
Only reason it’s not a full five stars is that it can get busy and a bit noisy, but honestly that just shows how popular it is. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving classic Lowcountry flavors.

The food was the best we had on Isle of isle palms and Charleston combined . The scallops, shrimp and crab cake placed on creamy grits were cooked to perfection and the Brussel sprouts were delicious. I think the entree was called the top flight. A nice glass of Edna valley Cabernet topped it off perfectly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was delicious! The service was great too! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Classic beach diner. Super relaxed atmosphere. Sat at the bar. If you like shrimp and grits this is your place. They offer several versions of shrimp and grits. Nice portions. Great breakfast menu as well. Staff was friendly, service was great.
There is parking behind the restaurant. Mind the signs on where you park.
Put this on your list of breakfast spots to try.

Acme is super popular but parking availability is not on par with the restaurant’s popularity. We had to park on the road and weren’t sure whether it was an ok spot. Fortunately Ashton, our waitress, was so kind and helpful that she offered to go and check out the spot without us asking her to!!! We are so thankful for her willingness to help. By doing that, she had allowed us to fully enjoy our lunch, which was delicious! Thank you so much Ashton.

Acme Lowcountry Kitchen absolutely lives up to its reputation. I had the peel-and-eat shrimp and the Lighthouse platter, and the quality was outstanding. Everything was fresh, local seafood, prepared simply and perfectly so the flavors really shine.
The peel-and-eat shrimp were some of the best I’ve had—fresh, seasoned just right, and exactly what you hope for when you’re on the South Carolina coast. The Lighthouse platter was a fantastic mix of local seafood and a great way to sample multiple dishes.
What really pushed the experience over the top was the service—spectacular from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
If you’re anywhere near Isle of Palms, this place is a must-stop for authentic Lowcountry seafood.
