I was recommended by a good friend and I don’t regret it. My favorite Hibachi restaurant is in the city and I truly didn’t tell like driving. This place is now my second favorite restaurant! Friendly staff very informative and she remembered that I love yum yum sauce from the first question I asked her. I’m very excited that I have found a new restaurant!

Reservations were for 6:30 and our group of five arrived shortly after 6:20. No other hibachi tables were occupied and three regular tables had guests. By 7:00, we were served water, and by 7:15 we asked how much longer things would be. The woman pointed to two new tables of guests behind us and said that the chef had to prepare their order first. We politely declined and left.
To add, the smell of the bathrooms is so intense that the entire left side of the restaurant smells of sewerage.

Best sushi. Great service at the sushi bar. Of course the female service always to be in such a rush and it’s difficult to get a refill on drinks but the food makes it all worthwhile. After visiting several other Sushi local places that recently opened up in Metairie I really appreciate it going back to Uchi sushi. I suggest you ask them to cut the rolls in more pieces as they are huge! Great place to bring the kids. Mine have grown up going there

This place was recommended to me and it didn’t hold up to my expectations. I asked if they had a specific roll and the waitress rudely said “yeah! It’s right there on the menu” stated I didn’t want any raw fish rolls and one of the 4 rolls we ordered was raw salmon and tuna. Being from the pnw I don’t care for Atlantic salmon. All my other rolls were 50% cucumber.

Let me begin by saying that the review is for horrible service not bad food!!! The food was actually so good that after my coworkers shared hers with me I decided to come and check the place out for myself. Well I went in around 130-145 on a weekday, didn’t appear busy. Since I don’t get a long lunch, what faster then sushi. I was not greeted and after standing there (first time wasn’t sure if I seated myself) I asked if I can sit at bar. Both the lady who told me yes and another went on about there business. One cleaning off soy bottles the other wiping down clean tables – at this point I was there for over 20 min and ready to go, I got her attention and explained in the most polite manner that I could I was ready to order that I had less then 30 min left for lunch but I was eating sushi there. I ordered she brings my food to go. I was still waiting on my other food so I started opening my box, I asked for a sauce, which she literally slammed. She yelled didn’t you say it was to go and walks off. Which I clearly mentioned I was eating there. She comes back with my other order and slams the check throws my sauce in the sink (which I wasn’t finished) after that behavior I signed tipped n left) didn’t even finish my sushi. So rude! Never felt so disrespected in my life! I waited a few days to cool off so that my review wouldn’t be bias and despite loving the food… I doubt I’ll be back. Sad really!

I have been going almost once a week lately for lunch. I’m enjoying the tempura and sushi lunch, usually get another roll (trying to try them all). Really good value for a lunch with enough to actually satisfy your hunger. I don’t know anywhere else including 7 different vegetables in their tempura serving. For my extra roll this week I chose the Yellow Tail Roll. This is my test roll to compare with other restaurants, their roll was extremely well prepared-the green onion was spot on. I will continue to go back and I’m sure I will enjoy working my way through the list of rolls!

Lunch was great. They had college ball on the tv, their chicken katsu is so good and the sushi is sliced large. We had happy family roll, cruchy roll, and the spicy tuna roll. Sake was hot and delicious. Fair prices, and friendly service. Will be back!

In town for work and decided to check this place out after reading so many positive reviews. I was not disappointed. Staff was very friendly and patient with me as I looked over the seemingly endless menu of rolls. Finally went with a rainbow roll and spicy tuna roll. Both were delicious and I did not leave hungry. Also had a side salad with ginger dressing that was good. They go heavy on the dressing but that didn’t bother me. Overall good experience and would visit again!
