We were brought here by our British of Indian decent taxi driver after we discovered Zayani was closed due to roadwork, and another restaurant called Raniz was at the Google location listed for Zayani.

Everyone was very nice, the papadams included a hibiscus chutney that was special and specific to this place. The restaurant was filled with Brit’s, Indians, and Americans.

We ate several courses, and were happy with each. The spice level is very mild, so if you like spicy, go for something marked with three hot peppers. The level one is for babies and Brits. Being used to Mexican food in Colorado, the level one was just not enough kick. Let me assure you, the markings for spicy were British spicy, not Indian spicy.

Service came with some smiles, and as much information as you need, in case you aren’t familiar with Indian food.

It got very loud, thanks to an American older man holding court. Once he left, the sound level was fairly mellow.

Our favorites in London are Veeraswamy, Amaya, and Chutney Mary. This is no where near that level. This is a working person’s hearty, authentic, economical meal with large portions. Worth a visit for sure.

Another Thursday and another great tasting curry at Achari!
I keep coming back for the truly great food, authentic flavours and great hospitality!

I have been frequenting Achari for over 20 years with family, friends and my dad every Thursday!

We both enjoy Achari for its great tasting authentic food and the super friendly staff, they are truly great and make you always feel welcomed.

It is great to see the restaurant vibrant and busy, just a truly great local restaurant.

Achari do not offer parking and they have never asked where I have parked.
The restaurant is in a residential area, so be prepared to walk a short distance from your car if you find a space.

Thank you so much for a great meal, experience every time!

If there was an option for NO stars, I would have chosen it. We had a really bad experience at this restaurant. The moment we walked in, we didn’t feel welcomed, but we still decided to stay and sat down at a table. Immediately, one of the staff members approached us and bluntly asked where we had parked our car.

We told him we parked on the next street, where two other cars were also parked. He simply said, “You can’t park there,” and walked away without offering any explanation, alternatives, or guidance on where we could park???

So my husband immediately left to move his car, and searching for parking which took him good 10–15 minutes, he finally found a spot which was 10-minute walk from the restaurant.

Once my husband went out to move the car, I stayed inside with our toddler, and during that time I noticed several other customers walk in — none of them were questioned about parking or asked to move their cars.

The worst part is that we had called before arriving and were told to “park wherever you find a space on the street.” Yet, as soon as we arrived, they made us move the car!!

This is absolutely unacceptable. The staff clearly lack basic politeness, customer service skills, and consistency in the information they provide!!!!!!!

No one bothered to check in afterward, ask if we managed to find parking, or even apologize for the inconvenience they caused!!!

To make matters worse, when my husband returned, we had to leave the restaurant and walk with our toddler into the freezing cold, all the way back from the distant parking spot he had been forced to use. The entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and incredibly disappointing.

Their behavior felt biased , dismissive, and overall, the lack of courtesy, communication, and professionalism was shocking. This was easily one of the worst and most ridiculous customer service experiences we’ve ever had!!!!

Well what can I say, we held a celebration Christmas office lunch for our staff and from start to finish the service and food was amazing, we had chosen a selection of curries (butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken shashlik, lamb bhuna, vegetable karahi, mattor paneer) rice and sundries for 46 guests for collection, on arrival we were seated and asked if we wanted a drink, the food was all boxed up and we were helped to the car. At the office we had food warmers although the foil containers kept the remaining items warm throughout, each and every dish was delicious, everyone enjoyed it so much and there were compliments all round, it really made our lunch feel special, thank you so much Achari, we will definitely be ordering again!

Booked a table online for valentines day and got told we have to wait 30 minutes when we got there. I told them I booked a table and they said I have to call in advance because they are busy. Why am I booking the table if your just gonna give it away? Luckily we don’t live far otherwise I would’ve started arguing. Nobody apologised either, they acted like it was my problem for not calling in advance to check that the table I booked is still available lmao what?

Very nice traditional authentic Indian taste. I really enjoyed that they have their own twist to every dish, not like other Indian restaurants, where the dishes all taste very similar. Staff here were very helpful and knew what ingredients were in all dishes.
