Absolutely tasty hand rolls! The spicy ahi roll was amazing. The happy hour is such a great deal. Yuengling beers for $3 and the roll was $4. So damn good!

I was really excited to try this spot! I had been eyeing their menu for a while and decided to order lunch today. This is a small business and I rarely leave reviews, I genuinely don’t want to dissuade anyone from trying this spot. Simply leaving this review so that the leadership can see and make the needed adjustments. I ordered the poke bowl, and rest of the bowl was super tasty!! However, as soon as i bit into it i was immediately disappointed. The rice, the main part of any bowl, was extremely hard. Not undercooked, but obviously had been sitting out for a WHILE and was literally hard to chew. I ate the little bit of toppings I had and tossed the rest. Hoping next time is better!!!

I popped by here for lunch while waiting for my husband to have a medical procedure on K st. I’m not familiar with Hawaiian food but it seemed fresh and like a good lunch option and the young man behind the counter was extremely friendly in directing me and explaining what everything was.

I ended up getting the spicy salmon bowl and the spam misubi snack for my husband to try. I really liked it and thought it was a perfect quick lunch. Fresh and really yummy. I added some pics.

I had initially loved this place before. As someone from Hawai’i it was really nice seeing a place that had so many of my favorite childhood dishes. I loved their spam musubis and ahi poke. That being said, I recently ordered their food as part of a catering order. Everyone that came to my lunch (including me) that had eaten specifically the kalua pork dish had gotten food poisoning. We know it was the kalua pork because my Muslim friends who could not eat the dish ended up being okay. We emailed the establishment to kindly let them know that perhaps the meat had gone bad and to check in on others who may have had the same dish we did that day. They were extremely rude in their response and accused us of not taking “proper care” of the food, despite us having served the food within 2 hours of the pickup time. All we wanted as a response from them was either a quick apology or at least an acknowledgement that if the dish needed special serving instructions they forgot to give them to us. Unfortunately, this blatant disregard for our health concerns turned my friends and I from ever wanting to come to or order from this place again.

Update: I have to change this review from 5 stars to 2. They got rid of the other Hawaiian dishes, which I loved, and now just have poke and a few sides. Their poke has also gone downhill as the salmon is often chewy and gross (inedible last two times I tried it at this location and the Union Market one respectively.)

Old review: Fantastic place for Hawaiian food, not only poké, which I love, but also kahlua pork, taro, and a few other Hawaiian specialties. Great value, friendly service, delicious food. I’d be thrilled with a bit more non-poké variety, but I suppose that’s the main thing for most people.

Stopped by for an Abunai hand roll, and it was so delicious I went back and ordered two more. The hand roll was made with care, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Rice was expertly seasoned and the tuna poke tasted fresh. I’ll be back.

I ordered via Uber eats. The presentations of all the dishes were amazing. Their poke was filled and tasted great. I also got to spam musubi which was wrapped nicely. And I got a spicy salmon roll, it was very spicy like no joke, but it comes with wasabi and ginger as well. Very good presentation overall will order again.

Never order from here. The meat portion size was a joke. I ordered tuna and salmon and got like 6 pieces of tuna. The miso soup is water that they market as soup. Disgusting.

The poke is fine. In line with what I’ve had from many DC spots. The service at lunch today was disappointing. 2 people handling mobile and live orders that required 4-5 people. Orders were not processed in the order they came in—they just compiled a sea of receipts in no discernible order, so people behind us got their food long before us. There was no mystery to any of this because it’s a tiny space where you can see all of the paper orders and food prep happening in front of you. We were the 4th and 5th people to arrive for lunch and got our food after more than half an hour only because I went up to pester them. Hopefully it was just a bad day.
