First time finally trying abuelita’s. It was good. I’m sure I’ll be back if I’m in this side of town again. I will definitely skip the margarita next time as it was small and tasted more like a mix. But the quesabirrias and rice n beans were great.

Had an amazing chicken tinga burrito today. Biting into it was almost like a soup dumpling but in a really comfy sort of way. The tortilla is crispy which added a nice texture. My wife ordered a birria burrito and the beef was so flavorful and tender, so I also would highly recommend that in tacos or burritos.

I got the barbacoa taco, birria taco, a margarita, and chips and salsa/guac. The tacos were good, but the birria taco didn’t come with comsumé which I thought was weird. The salsa had okay flavor, but I wish there were more onions and cilantro in it. The spice level had three peppers, but it barely had any spiciness to it at all. The margarita was not good at all, would never get again. It tasted like the cheapest mix you could possibly get. All in all I would go again for some decent tacos, but I wouldn’t make this my go-to.

Now that I have eaten here a total of 8 times- 3 times in person & 5 via food delivery apps……it’s safe to say: THIS PLACE IS HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY UNDERRATED. Agua Fresca? All flavors-excellent. Pico? EXCELLENT. Guac? EXCELLENT. Birria? EXCELLENT. Churro cheesecake……also excellent. I genuinely don’t think this place is appropriately priced. I have to say, the birria is tender but NEVER salty. In the ramen, tacos, and burrito. I genuinely love this place. Food is always hot, fresh, packed with love, and maybe when the birria gets me out of a chokehold- I’ll try something else on the menu. Not anytime soon though.

The food is incredible and authentic- made fresh. The menu is smaller as you can appreciate they put the effort into what they choose to put on the menu that day. They have a salsa bar for you to choose your flavor To accompany your meal. The staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. They were happy! The restaurant is clean, modern.

Authentic Mexican served in a quick and unique way! They truly have a flavour for everyone with the immense variety of options. The chicken and chorizo cream, the mushrooms, and the tres leches cake, are must tries! The staff are also very welcoming and make you feel like family. 10/10

Abuelitas has been my go-to spot for quesabirria, but I had to write about my experience today because it shows how great they are! I was awaiting an order I thought I placed, and once I realized I hadn’t, the owner/manager was really cool about it and even gave me a free dessert for the wait. I really appreciated that gesture and will continue to support them!
