—Fried Fish Balls
Appetizer. 8 to 10 pieces. I have a GLUTEN intolerance and did not have any of my typical post-gluten ingestion side effects. I have no idea what the batter on the fish balls is, but it was delicious and didn’t bother me. (NotADoctor!) I don’t eat gluten by choice not by allergy.
Lennard Special-see photo!
Favorite things-pickled jicama, cold veggie slaw, chicken tocino, and leftovers for 2 more meals!
Everything I ordered was something I had never had before. All amazing! Thanks Lola!
The fish balls were pretty filling, so I did not eat quite half of my dinner. I took about 1/2 cup of my friend’s food with my leftovers.
Sooooo goood!
The ube desserts looked amazing, but I was stuffed!
Great server!
The www added the photo captions. Not my commentary.
The adobo dusted chicken was too dry. Prolly cooked for longer than required but the flavoring was good. Just the inside wasn’t juicy enough and apart from the sauce sprinkled outside, it’d be nice if there was sauce on the side as well
The special sisig bowl although expensive and not in the menu, was definitely tasty! We enjoyed it very much! The flavors, the way the meats were cooked was top notch! Absolutely recommended.
We kicked things off with lumpia… golden, delicate, and filled with flavor and the crispy Brussels sprouts, which were nothing short of addictive. The sprouts had that perfect balance of crunch and char, with a seasoning that made them shine as more than just a side dish. I could honestly go back and order just those with a cocktail and leave happy.
The chicken pancit was next, and it was comfort in a bowl; savory, light, and satisfying in a way only pancit can be. Then came the showstopper: the Lenard Special. A plate that looked as gorgeous as it tasted just so juicy chicken tocino, rich pork belly sisig with that signature sizzle, all crowned with a fried egg resting over perfectly cooked rice. Every bite was a harmony of textures and flavors: sweet, savory, crispy, and rich. It’s the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation just to savor what’s happening on your palate.
Dessert was not an afterthought and wow was it was an encore. The ube cheesecake was stunning, both visually and in flavor, with its smooth creaminess and subtle nuttiness that only ube can bring. The crispy turon wrapped everything up with that perfect crunch on the outside and warm, caramelized sweetness inside. It was the definition of comfort and indulgence in one bite.
Abstrakt isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. It honors Filipino flavors while adding a refined twist, and it’s the kind of place that leaves you already planning your next visit before you’ve even left the table. If you’re looking for a spot that will surprise, delight, and feed your soul…. My lord this is it.
Matthew was our server today and he really seemed to love his job and the food they serve. Will absolutely be back!
I tried one of their salads and now I cannot thinking about it (in video). We have really loved their protein options like the chicken and pork. Also, the portions are huge and so satisfying! I highly recommend the salad if you want a lighter option but with lots of flavor.
The pork sinigang was deeply satisfying, delivering that signature tangy, savory broth with tender pork and vegetables that tasted slow-simmered and full of care. It felt like a warm, home-cooked dish done exceptionally well. To finish, the ube cake was light, moist, and not overly sweet, with a smooth ube flavor that was both comforting and indulgent.
Overall, Abstrakt Filipino Restaurant offers a wonderful introduction to Filipino cuisine while still impressing those familiar with it. From appetizers to dessert, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of heart. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Filipino flavors in a modern, welcoming setting.
