I was surprised at how delicious the food was! I had much lower expectations but the croissant breakfast sandwich was fantastic. And it came out fast too! Also had an iced latte which was delicious, not watery. Could taste it was high quality coffee beans.

For the price, I think this will be a regular spot for me and the fam. Paid $24 for the croissant sandwich and coffee.

The outside tables are nice touch, definitely small bistro style size, and they have umbrellas for shade. You could fit strollers around them as needed.

Downsides – There is no changing table in the bathroom, and I didn’t see any high chairs. You might be able to use the ledge in the bathroom if you have a tiny baby.

Vibe – The inside is a little sterile feeling in terms of decor and ambiance.

Seating – There is only one larger table inside that could seat 4. All the other ones are for 2 people only.

We had a lovely breakfast with Abe and his staff. We shared the veggie breakfast burrito and three empanadas along with our hot latte and matcha. Delicious – friendly – hot – clean and definitely a return is in the near future!

A neighbor recommended that we check out the newly opened Abe’s Cafe. They’re conveniently located on Mt Diablo in downtown Lafayette. We parked right in front, walked in &  found a comfortable table near the front window. My wife ordered the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast & I had their Breakfast Croissant & coffees. The coffee was amazing! I found out it they feature locally owned & operated McLaughlin Coffee. I’ve seen it on the shelves of Diablo Foods and really loved the rich smooth flavor.

The food came up quickly and was delicious! We liked it so much, we decided to order some Empanadas to go. We love cooking at home & don’t eat out much, however we’ll definitely be back.

We also liked that they support local artists and have several nice works on their walls, availble for sale.

50 stars for Abraham and the whole crew! I came all the way from Berkeley to visit the new cafe.

This airy and inviting cafe is the perfect stop for a bite while shopping, or even sit down and get some work done at the tables (WiFi and outlets available). The atmosphere is perfect between the amiable staff and bright aesthetic. Of special note: the owner, Abe, is incredibly kind and gets to know practically anyone who comes through the door. Loads of places love to say they want you to feel like you’re “at home,” but Abe and his team actually walk the talk. Even during the booming Food & Wine Festival in September, while churning out orders, beaming smiles are exchanged and conversations abound.

They offer a beautifully crafted menu that is impressively tasteful and versatile, yet laid back. Every single item is *outstanding*—you’ll struggle to find a better bite for breakfast/lunch, especially for the price. Seriously, I’ve had $25 sandwiches from pretentious cafes that pale in comparison. From house-made cold brew and aguas frescas, to authentic Argentine empanadas and classical European cafe items, to specials featuring dishes from Abe’s hometown or anything else he thinks up… everything is perfectly executed. Flavors are balanced, ingredients are noticeably fresh, and portions are plentiful.

I promise you this will quickly become a go-to spot at least a couple times a week.

Wow. I don’t usually feel compelled to write about sandwich shops, but Abe’s Cafe is amazing. The service is excellent, the sandwiches are very tasty, the EMPANADAS and the smoothies are top notch. It quickly became our family favorite. Not sure there is an item on the menu that I am not excited to try. Today is the Green Energy smoothie and Caprese sandwich

Abe’s Cafe is a wonderful place for a coffee, a relaxing break, and lunch. They have unique sandwiches and perhaps the largest selection of empanadas I’ve ever seen – all are very good.

We tried out Abe’s today and had a great breakfast of coffee, chorizo breakfast burrito and took home a half dozen empanadas. Enjoying a nice coffee outdoors was a great way to spend the morning. This place is a gem!

I had the pleasure of stopping by Abe Café at the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival with my mom and niece — and we’re so glad we did! The owner, Abe, was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

We ordered the chicken empanada, and WOW — 10/10. Perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with flavor inside. You can tell a lot of care goes into their food. Everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious — we’ll definitely be back to try more!

Highly recommend checking them out if you see them at an event or around town. Great food, great people!
