A must stop location when at Siesta Key! A large variety of delicious ice cream! I’m partial to spumoni, which is like the fruitcake of ice cream with the nuts and fruit, plus the chocolate, cherry and pistachio ice cream. Delightful!!

The family was craving ice cream so we went with Abel’s since they stay open later. I couldn’t decide between a banana split and a shake, but ended up going with the coffee shake. And I’m glad I did. It was delicious, not too sweet and super satisfying. I had a large and could’ve easily gone for another. Great ice cream and friendly service!

Cute ice cream shop. Has a variety of flavors that seemed interesting. I’m basic so I got a coffee flavored one. The cup size I got was a single. Which surprisingly was huge. Can definitely eat this between two people. The flavor was rich and creamy. The coffee flavor was robust, which I loved.

Their ice cream are so deliciously good! Easy to find, clean and you can even sit around and eat your treat. The service is great, she’s very helpful and even letting us try some other flavors we may want to try.

We stopped by Abel’s Ice Cream around 9:20 PM, knowing they closed at 9:30. We fully understood that they were getting ready to close, so we planned to order quickly and not take up much time. However, the attitude from the staff made the experience very unpleasant.
As soon as we walked in, both young workers looked annoyed and whispered to each other. While we were deciding what to order, one of them told us (rather rudely) that they were closing in five minutes and even made hand gestures to hurry up. We told her we understood they wanted to go home soon, but there was no reason to be rude about it. Meanwhile, the other girl was loudly slamming chairs as she stacked them up, making it clear they wanted everyone out.
As we were leaving, about ten more people arrived, and one of the same workers repeated the same hand gestures and comments to hurry up because they were closing soon. We completely understand that employees want to finish their shift and go home, but a little courtesy and professionalism go a long way.
Unfortunately, the attitude from the staff left a bad taste in our mouths — and not from the ice cream. We won’t be returning.
