We love Abelardo’s! We have eaten at a few in Omaha (where the restaurant originated), so we were really excited to see that one was coming to Cape Girardeau. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the prices are really affordable. Their Taco Tuesday deal is great: 5 beef or chicken tacos for $6 (soft shell, hard shell, or fried). The portions are great and their condiment bar is great, as well. The restaurant has always been clean when we were there, and the staff has always been very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a quick and delicious meal. We’ll definitely be back for more in the future! Keep up the great work!

Really liked their hours, it’s open at every time of the day. Great food after a night out at the club! I’d say the real point-stealer would be the sauce/condiment bar that they have which lets you choose unlimited salsa, guac, jalapenos, pickled carrots and others. Just to make it on the list for a night dine in!

Was hungry so I went to dine in and eat a burrito and fountain drink. Ordered California burrito and cup for fountain soda. Went to get soda, saw 3 ants or gnats in the soda when getting sierra mist. Quickly emptied that out. Went back and got a bottled jarritos instead. Burrito came out quick, but changed my mind on eating there. Was about 85 °f Inside, very warm. I just dumped the unopened burrito and too the jarritos to go. Will never step foot inside again. Don’t trust the cleanliness from the soda machine, nervous about the food, and too hot to eat there. I’ve eaten there before and it’s fine, but I’ll just go somewhere else in the future. Not really mad, just disappointed.

Several people kept saying come here so I wanted to try it. I got a burrito full of steak? I ordered a breakfast burrito she said breakfast burritos come with eggs and potatoes. But mine only had steak that’s it. The girl at the window I don’t know if she’s Japanese but she doesn’t speak English well she could not understand anything I had to ask. I’m not mad that she doesn’t speak English but the fact that she is extremely rude and hateful. Also why would you put someone at the window that can’t take orders but is supposed to just take orders? I’m a big sauce person and I wanted sauce and she gave me one and didn’t even ask me what I wanted or how many I wanted and I was trying to explain that to her. I just can’t eat food without sauce that’s who I am. The place does not look clean at all and they are definitely not friendly

Overall a good experience.
I almost didn’t pull in the lot. It said open but there were no cars in the lot. The restaurant is in an old run down building. The interior is also in need of some repair. The building was clean. It just had a run down look to it.
No music. Just the hum of a fan and chatter from other customers coming and going.
Tried the breakfast burrito. It was loaded with steak, egg, cheese, and potatoes. Grilled fresh as I waited.
It had good flavor as it was. I did not sauce it up as I normally would.
The counter person was friendly and took the order quickly.
The grill cook worked his magic with a smile and quick service.
I must return to try some of the other meals.

I ordered off.of postmates to pick up at this place and ordered the Oklahoma burrito – steak, potato, grilled Pico and cheese. I got home and discovered it was a burrito with steak, onion and shrimp – no cheese, no potato. I called them and they told me it was a “franchise” error. No, it was their error. They offered to remake it if I wanted to drive all the way back over, but I did not. I am new to Cape and this will be the one and only time I eat here.

Purchased the chicken fajita combo to go. $15 to receive more beans than I did fajitas. Not seasoned, no where near the portions of other local restaurants. Will definitely skip in lieu of other options in the future. Maybe 1 cup total of fajita, mostly paid for beans. As you can see they didn’t even fill the spot for fajitas. Got chips and queso too. Chips were not fresh, queso was watery. With the cost of eating out this is 100% not worth your money.

Abelardo’s was absolutely phenomenal. The gentleman behind the counter was as friendly as can be, and the food was top tier.
I had the birria tacos (12.99/3), my fiancé had the street tacos (9.49/4), and we shared and order of chips and queso (4.99).
The portions are huge, and the flavors are huge. It’s everything I could want in a restaurant. I highly recommend Abelardo’s Mexican Fresh.

This place was great!! Horchata was awesome and the people there were really nice. There was also a “sauce bar” type thing where you could pick out whatever sauces you want on your tacos.

Reminds me of the taco shops back home in Southern California. Flavors, taste, portions, and consistency never fails me. This is my go-to place for a quick fix that cures the hunger, and I usually always have leftovers.
