I recently visited ABC Cafe Restaurant in Monterey Park, and it quickly became one of my favorite HK-style cafés in the area.
Food:
Every dish we tried was well-executed and memorable. The Pineapple Bun had the lightly sweet, classic HK-style texture done just right. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was the standout of the meal—perfectly crispy, creamy, and full of flavor. The Seafood Udon was warm, savory, and generously filled with seafood. The ABC Fried Rice was a reliable but straightforward classic that paired well with everything else. The Grilled Chicken Steak came with a rich, savory gravy that brought the whole dish together.
Ambiance:
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an excellent place for groups of friends or anyone looking to enjoy a comfortable meal. There’s plenty of space, and the environment encourages good conversation and a laid-back dining experience.
Customer Service:
The service was top-tier. The staff checked in frequently to ensure that we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed, and their attentiveness really elevated the experience.
Overall:
ABC Cafe Restaurant delivers excellent food, friendly service, and a comfortable ambiance. It’s a spot I’d definitely recommend to anyone in the Monterey Park area, and I’m looking forward to returning.

ABC in Monterey Park is the place to go for cheap HK food. I have only gotten family-style sharing dishes, and I would say it’s pretty average. I think it’s better than JJ Cafe though.
They have some “afternoon tea” deals for noodles.
Service is ok. They speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and some English.
Free parking in the lot, but it’s mostly full.
Bathroom available.

Food: delicious beef stew with wonton noodles soup. Seafood chow mein was crispy and flavorful. Majority of Cantonese dishes here are good
Service: friendly and courteous staff. Attentive to my party needs as well.
Atmosphere: ABC Cafe is undergoing a renovation inside and outside so it is becoming modernized and brighter.

Haven’t come here for 7 years. We used to come here every week during my wife pregnancy. She love the sole fish fillet. She said it tastes the same as before

There is a $78 lobster offering that is roughly 3 lbs lobster served with E-fu noodles below.
$3 more gets you some veggies.

It is said that this restaurant has been in business for decades and is well-known in Monterey Park. It was my first time trying it, and I was impressed by its simple and rustic decor, creating a spacious atmosphere. Not knowing the signature dishes, I randomly ordered, and the portion sizes were surprisingly generous. The flavors were excellent, and the waitstaff was very friendly with quick responses. The restaurant is located across from the Lincoln Hotel where I work, and I plan to come back often in the future.

Review is based on 1dishes only!!!! I have been a fan of pickle vegetables with shredded pork noodle soup since I was a young boy in Chinatown in Los Angeles.. Sonia’s very excited when I saw on Instagram video promoting this on afternoon tea yesterday.. I was so excited going there today and I was so disappointed! 1) the noodle has aquiline taste.. perhaps it was but rinsed well after cooking. It left a nasty taste 2) there was no pickle vegetables.. it was some something else 3) white onion?? 4) soup taste funny… I don’t like to say bad things and I normally don’t like to post them but this was a horrible meal.. wasted my time..

The name has been around for decades, and once a popular place for a late-night meal or hangout. The food could have been better and has been better in past years. Considering value, much of the menu here has been refocused to mimic Cantonese/Hong Kong cafes. Unfortunately, there are some misses and highlights inconsistent for a return. Their noodle and stir-fry dishes are good. They are not the salt bombs that could be, and beef dishes are well constructed. Some Fried Rice dishes are above average, but a specialty attempt with Dried Scallops proved to be thin and lacking any real flavor. Curry dishes are really skimpy with the proteins. The most notable failure is the Steamed Rice Sheets with Shrimp. I have never had such a horrible rendition of this favorite Cantonese delicacy. I just couldn’t imagine any of the other versions to be any better. What they do well here are the popular dry or wet noodle dishes. There are many misses and not worth exploring in my opinion. The service is excellent, and the drinks are strong, done with some care. This may have been the only savour to otherwise a questionable decision.

One of my favorite HK Cafes! The dishes here are very cheap and delicious, especially the $8.99 hainan chicken rice. I also love the singapore stir fried noodies and the fried chicken. The drinks are also very good too. They use real condensed milk in the milk tea and their lemon tea is sweet and refreshing.

Great HK Style Cafe in MP. The restaurant finally looks freshened up, but the plaza needs some much needed renovation and cleaning up. Still great food value and portion size. Steak and egg special and Wonton Noodle soup always on point. One of the best values in HK Style cafes in the SGV. Unbeatable value.
