Awesome meatlovers pizza and kids chicken fingers with fries. Everything was hot and fresh, even on New Year’s Eve. First time trying and we will be back.

The NY style calamari was phenomenal along with the chicken piccata. The minestrone soup was not up to par per my girlfriend. But she’s picky, so that’s her. Very cheap, will definitely be back.

I recently tried Abates for the first time. I’m in love! I ordered the Abate Special and it completely blew me away. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’m still thinking about it every day and eating clean all week just so I can order it again this weekend. I tried it from Uber Eats with fresh garlic. Absolutely amazing!!! Can’t wait for my boyfriend to try their mashed potato pizza too when I order again next!

First time and last time. My mother and father always come here, but I don’t. New Year’s Eve I ordered take out and not only did I find hair in my food but my fiance did too. It was the same color— grey and curly. My mother called and the lady was not remorseful whatsoever. She stated that the cooks are required to wear hair nets and that she passed the information to the manager. My mother has yet to hear back, which is surprising.. We are not interested in getting this issue resolved as we know how to ourselves— don’t go here anymore!

The pizza was incredible, so good. The woman at the front counter, I think her name is Anna, was the best. Super helpful. I ordered 6 pizzas for a co-workers retirement party. The pizzas were ready at exactly 11:45am like we planned. Anna gave us plenty of plates, napkins and plastic silverware at no extra charge. My coworkers had a great time and everyone raved about how tasty the pizza was. Abate’s pizza is right up there with all the other New Haven Pizza places that we hear about all the time. Will definitely order again.

My family and I have been customers of Abates for many years now. We typically dine-in but decided to order takeout January 1st. We typically love the food and never have had any complaints before in all the times we were customers. However, this time our food was not to our satisfaction and found something in the food that we were upset about. We called the next day to inform them of the outcome of the food that we did not finish, but was surprised by the lack of accountability that the restaurant held. There was no apology, and was given a short answer of “they wear hair nets and hats” with no further action. We typically rate this restaurant 5/5 but after this experience we will not return.

I forgot how much I love Abate pizza! Have not ordered from here since they moved to this location. Will definitely be back! We ordered 2 medium pizzas for delivery via Uber Eats.

I would put Abates Pizza up against Pepe’s, Modern and Sally’s any day of the week.
Today I ate lunch outside patio and ordered a small pizza….. 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 sausage, which was delicious. Abates loads up the toppings, instead of the usual restaurants that put a pepperoni here or there. I definitely got my moneys worth.
Restaurant staff are always friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to dine in every single time I eat there.
I had a nice conversation with Loretta(owner) very kind and nice lady.
I give them a 10 out of 10
Amazing. ❤️

My quest to find a true “Nona’s Sunday dinner” chicken parm is what brought me here — and I’m glad it did. This was takeout, and even so it was incredibly close to what I remember from childhood. Comforting, rich, and made with real care. Abate Restaurant has definitely earned a spot in my top 10. I’ll be back soon to try it again, this time dining in.

Why did it take an hour and twenty minutes for my order to end up being canceled? I ordered at 8 and by 9:20 I get an email from Slice saying that it was canceled due to no one at Abate confirming the order. Was there an emergency? was someone asleep on the job? It’s too late now to order from another place and I haven’t eaten all day. This was meant to be for a late Christmas party as well as a surprise for my Dad who was walking home in the snow, so that was also ruined. To top off this experience, if you go to the Abate website, the ‘Contact’ button does nothing. You click it and it does nothing. It’s not connected to any service. If the snow was the problem, why did it take an hour and twenty minutes? If Slice did not automatically cancel the order because you did not confirm it, would the order had just been lost to the void until someone figured out they should look at active orders? This bad experience was the end of my last day off for the holidays before having to return to work tomorrow.
