This place… a gem!

Real soul food at it’s best and incredibly kind and knowledgeable women on the line!

-Fried pork chops
-Salisbury steak with green beans and mac n cheese
-Pig feet (love them!)
-Turkey wings with green beans & mac n cheese
-Salisbury steak with green beans & dressing

Plus (not pictured) large lemonade & some of the absolute BEST peach cobbler this side of your Big Mama’s kitchen!

A religious experience and no we didn’t eat it all but by tomorrow noon it will be gone

The only slight minus was the lemonade. It was ok but that’s all. Nothing memorable about it.

There will be a line… But it moves pretty steady. Wait! It’s worth it.

The food here is usually very good and flavorful, I previously gave this place five stars . However, my most recent visit on Sunday was very disappointing. The turkey was not properly seasoned, and the gravy was very watery and lacked flavor. The cornbread was also hard.
There is normally a long line, which speaks positively about the restaurant, but last Sunday they missed the mark. Perhaps the main cook was off that day. There is ample parking space and the food is reasonably priced. I forgot to take a picture before like I normally do, but attached is the picture when I was done!

This was my first and LAST time eating at this dump.

I was visiting Atlanta and went on TikTok to find the “best” soul food here. This place popped-up.

I’m coming off of a fast and wanted something hearty, this was not it!

The chicken was seasonless and a piece still had FEATHERS on it, mac & cheese -SOULLESS, the collard greens were an accessory to the vinegar and the cornbread is just horrible.

Yes, there was a line to get food there. However, I believe it’s because this place in conveniently located, not because they’re serving good food.

I’m definitely giving this to a person in need.

It’s still edible, just not good.

I visited because of the YouTube video I saw. The pork chop mac and cheese was absolutely delicious! It was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, the cornbread and black-eyed peas were a bit disappointing. They didn’t quite meet the same high standard as the main dish. I’ll definitely be back for that mac and cheese, though!

CAN DINE IN BUT ITS ALL SERVED IN TOGO BOXES. IF YOU LIVE FAR AWAY SUGGESTIONS IS TO TASTE IT WHILE IN STORE THEN TAKE IT AWAY

The area is a bit sketchy, described as “Hood,” but they say that’s where good food is found in GA. The staff was friendly and patient. There can be a long line, but the workers get you in and out. It’s worth the wait. I hope to try the turkey wings next time.

Don’t come here in a rush! What an awful experience. This place was absolutely packed, yet the service showed no sense of urgency, teamwork, or professionalism. I waited 45 minutes for food, which is simply unacceptable.

The lady at the register stood around with no initiative, showing no effort to support her team or move things along. It was as if customer service was the last thing on anyone’s mind. Watching a crowded restaurant run with zero coordination was frustrating and disappointing.

When the food finally came, it was nothing special—bland, thrown together, and far from the authentic soul food you’d expect. After such a long wait, the quality should have made up for it, but instead it felt like a complete waste of time and money.

Soul food is supposed to come with care, energy, and pride. Here, there was none of that. A1 Soul Food has lost the meaning of hospitality, and it shows in both their service and their cooking.

1/5 – Ridiculous wait times, poor teamwork, and mediocre food.

There were a lot of customers in line. The wait was about 35 min. The food was well seasoned and delicious. It was worth the wait. I do not know what could be done to control the volume of customers. The food tastes good and the people keep coming knowing that there is a wait.

I noted that a lot of time is spent on people trying to decide what they want to eat after seeing the choices. Maybe.someone could take.the orders.prior to going through the service line?

I first tried this restaurant because my gma asked for a liver plate. OMGosh. This food is so flavorful. The customer service is 10/10. Everyone is so friendly. If you need to make a change before they fix the food completely, they do no huff and puff. Good customer service is hard to find these days, but here, they have excellent customer service. I have tried various meals and have not had a bad meal yet. I love their salisbury steak and wish they served that daily. Keep up the good work. I drive over 40 minutes to get a plate for myself and my gma.

PS. Yes, the lines will be long. That is because the food is so delicious (IMO.) At first, it almost deterred me, but I decided to stick around and I was not disappointed.

Cold cheaply sourced & made sides. Macaroni had entirely too much white pepper. Yams appeared to be out of a can. Cornbread, rice & gravy barely had flavor. Dressing seemed out of a bag or box. Restroom dirty & run down. The only thing good was the peach cobbler. Never again!

I came here on my lunch break and waited 45 minutes to get my food. There were two people working the line, someone at the register, and others in the kitchen. It took so long to get my food because everyone was ordering multiple plates for others.

I got two turkey wings (it comes that way), mac, and broccoli casserole. You can tell that the food is made with love. They give you a lot of food for the price. Peach cobbler was also really good.

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH !!!! I understand that everyone does not have a bubbly personality and that’s not at all what I’m expecting but when you take it upon yourself to get a job in customer service, I expect you to be welcoming when it comes to serving customers the workers are rude. they rush you even when you don’t take long all of them for the most are rude I came across one or two that were pretty nice. But other than that, the interactions are not pleasant and I’ve been here probably about four times now And they’re always rude, but I will say the food is pretty decent Which is why I keep coming back because the attitudes surely aren’t keeping me coming back whatsoever.
Food – 4/5
Customer service – 1/5
Atmosphere- 2.5/5
