We had a wonderful experience at A Valenciana in Lisbon!
The service was fast and extremely efficient, always friendly and attentive. The food is simply superb — it truly tastes like traditional homemade Portuguese cuisine, full of flavor and prepared with care.
I highly recommend the grilled chicken — absolutely delicious, juicy, and perfectly cooked!
A very special thank you to ANA, CARLÃO, and MARÍLIA, who made the experience even more special with their kindness and dedication.
Definitely a restaurant I will return to

We were on holiday in Lisbon coming from Manchester, UK. The food was fresh, delicious and portions were good. The service was excellent we were looked after by our lovely and warm waitress Engracia (Grace). Her English was perfect and was very patient with us. The atmosphere was positive, nice and a good vibe overall. Clean venue and all the staff members were welcoming. We will be coming back for sure! Thank you again guys!

Excellent Peri-Peri chicken in the heart of Lisbon. The restaurant is quite big and has 2 floors for dining. The soup was comforting. The bread served with sardine pate was something different which I hadn’t experienced before. The roasted chicken was the highlight of the meal. Smoky, tender and so juicy – every bit was perfectly cooked and grilled to perfection. The fries served was piping hot and crispy. The side of rice was delicious as well.
Service was welcoming and great. Overall, this is a place that is worth revisiting in the future.

The largest restaurant in Lisbon with 150 employees serving 800 covers across 10 rooms and one of the oldest still operating from its original location since 1914, A Valenciana offers four specialised kitchens producing a traditional Portuguese menu with an extensive wine card — including selections from their own Minho vineyard — at very fair prices, efficient service in a classic environment.
We were 2 for lunch that had delicious herbed olives and a ripe queijo de ovelha amanteigado as couvert, very tasty fried ovas de pescada with green beans, carrots and boiled potato, a bitoque de vitela with rice, fries and a perfectly runny egg, farófias, coffees and waters for €25/pax, which is outstanding value for the quality and portions.
It is a favourite.

Best chicken in town.
It tells alot as I don’t normally enjoy chicken.
It’s smokey, well seasoned. I wish I can opt for whole chicken but half side dishes.
The shrimp pastel is cold inside. I don’t recommended it.

It was very busy, but the service was excellent and the food was served quickly. The chicken was exceptionally tender and delicious. Valenciana is a must-try when you visit Lisbon.

Food was delicious and quite reasonably priced. Chicken was juicy, perfectly cooked with slight kick, and all the sides were great. But the start of the show was probably the banoffee pie, incredible. I assume most of their desserts would be wonderful. And finally the service was unbelievable. Our server Martha was very patient and helpful. Despite being very busy she took the time to explain the menu as we don’t speak Portuguese. And another server was bringing water to all the dogs that came with the guests, which he didn’t have to but did it anyways as he’s just a good human being. Highly recommend the restaurant.

I tried the famous roasted chicken and it definitely lives up to its reputation—tender, flavorful, and really well done.
I ordered rice on the side, but that part wasn’t as impressive. Still, the chicken alone makes the visit worth it.

I was here almost two years ago and I still think about their grilled chicken every now and then. The chilly sauce was the soul of this dish. The staff was also really nice, and one of them offered to take a photo of me with the food as I was traveling alone. I can’t wait to return.

Best chicken I have ever had in my life. Make sure to ask for your chicken to be extra charred/grilled so it’s crispy and brown. Trust me, makes all the difference.
