The okoy was pretty good, though it could have used more salt or seasoning. Unfortunately, the rest of the Filipino food was disappointing.

The kare kare was just okay. The flavor itself was decent, but the presentation and portion size were really frustrating. It was served as if this were a fine-dining restaurant—small portions for no clear reason—despite this not being a fine-dining place at all. For the price, I expected something closer to a traditional Filipino plate. There were only two small pieces of oxtail, with a third piece that was mostly bone, and the portion of rice was tiny—barely enough to accompany the dish. Kare kare is also supposed to include plenty of vegetables like eggplant, string beans, and bok choy, but there were only two small pieces of bok choy and one of eggplant on the plate.

The palabok was also just okay. The noodles were cooked properly, but the flavor was bland, and again, the portion size didn’t come close to justifying the price. I left nowhere near full, which is disappointing for what’s supposed to be a hearty, comforting meal. Wanted to order Filipino dessert but stopped myself from being further disappointed.

I’m giving this place three stars instead of two because I appreciate that they offer Filipino food, but overall it’s not worth the price, and I won’t be coming back. This isn’t a fine-dining restaurant, but the pricing definitely suggests otherwise.

Came in late on a Friday night (an hour before closing) and the server that greeted us was so cheerful and pleasant when we asked if they were still open and serving. Great service and friendly staff is what we value most. But the food was also excellent! We’ve tried a lot of DMV restaurants that serve Filipino food and this was by far the best. The Indian dishes were also incredible! Delicious! Now we know why so many of our friends have recommended this spot. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Great food and unique experience. First and foremost authentic Filipino menu, including “boodle fight”.

In addition the owner has a fun background of traveling the world and has a menu of authentic dishes from those travels that are made in house.

My Kuya, an amazing friend from Philippines, brought here and the dishes were rich and really complex in flavor that tasted super delicious!! The oxtail, shrimp noodles and bone marrow soup brought back memories! Super stuffed and glad I had this experience place is small and intimate with low lighting that is endearing with the cuisine. Must try

It’s great to find an authentic Filipino restaurant in Herndon! They grind their own meat for the lumpia and serve San Miguel. Everything was delicious! I will be back.

If you’re craving authentic Filipino flavors with a warm, homey atmosphere, look no further than A taste of the World. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the signature Filipino hospitality—friendly smiles, attentive service, and that unmistakable aroma of garlic, vinegar, and simmering stews that took me straight back to Manila.

This place is amazing indeed. My son had a Tapsilog (Tapa, Sinangag(garlic fried rice) and Itlog (egg), a well known Filipino breakfast, also Lumpia. I had Kare Kare (Peanut sauce stewed oxtail. OMG, it’s the most delicious Kare Kare I have ever tried. The oxtail just melted in my mouth, gourmet Kare Kare indeed. Presentation was awesome and customer service was excellent. It’s a hidden gem indeed. We will definitely be back for many more to try all their dishes. Though they have international cuisines , so happy that they embraced and also highlight their Filipino dishes. You will not be disappointed with this restaurant. We finished our meal with Turon (Fried Banana) topped with Ice cream. Thank you for the heavenly meal. We loved it so much! We left with big smiles on our faces.

Finally a fulfilling authentic Filipino food experience. Our waitress was so nice and genuine, generously told us about the place, and understanding of our dietary restrictions. The turon was my favorite part, but the lumpia was a nostalgic piece to enjoy. My family definitely plan on coming back. 10 out of 10 everything! Only thing I would change about this place is to double down on the Filipino cuisine.
