I stopped in on my lunch break before they closed for the 2025 season, and I am glad I did! Their Maxwell polish was SO GOOD! They made everything to order, and it took about 10 minutes. So, if you are strapped for time, order ahead. They also bring in Amish pies. After trying the phenomenal pecan pie, I took one to-go to share with relatives on Thanksgiving. Everyone thought it was delicious! I can’t wait to try more of their specialty dogs and pies when they open again in 2026! Their prices are reasonable, and the guys running the stand were very nice.

Stopped here in my travels from Indianapolis and so happy I did. The service was absolutely fantastic. The girls were amazing! The coney dog tasted fantastic. The sauce was on point and it was nice and hot. Would highly recommend this place.

Love these old school, mom and pop hot dog stands. They could use a coat of paint, but I’m telling you the Polish. And Chicago style are freaking amazing. They are a must try if you’re in Michigan City, checking out lighthouse mall or going to the beach you gotta stop by. It’s about 2 blocks East of the giant smokestack. They also have amazing pies, locally made and handmade ice cream killer. Leave a good tip, tell him Jay sent. Yall, keep my man pops thriving.!!

Neat little shack to stop by! Might not have what you want… but what they DO have is REALLY GOOD! So much so that we cleaned them out of cinnamon rolls! Pictured: orange dreamsicle float.

Awesome place for a hot day. Came here after kayaking and got key lime pie and an ice cream cone. So good and great portions. Came back the next day and got the ice cream sandwich with Amish cookies. Even BETTER. Totally recommend this place.

I walked up and ordered a Chicago dog. Older dude that ordered before me says, “their Chicago dogs are better than Portillo’s.”
I felt a little bit like that was the Chicago equivalent of ‘a burger that’s better than McDonald’s’, but I must profess that t he Elder Hot Dog Sage was wise indeed, for that’s the best Chicago dog I’ve had outside the city itself in my natural life.

saw the stand and stopped here after a nice day at the beach and shopping outlet. the guys who run the stand are amazing and the food is, quite literally, a slice of heaven!
