Fantastic hidden gem. We were at Lowry’s books a couple weeks ago and found an old guide to Kalamazoo from the 70’s that mentioned A Pizza Yen — we had no idea they’ve been around that long! We drive by all the time and decided to pop in for a couple sandwiches. Great service and delicious food. We will be back!

The sandwiches were delicious!! This was my first time there although my boyfriend is a pizza yen veteran, he hadn’t had one in about a year or so, partially due to the pandemic, made it a point that that was where he wanted to go for lunch and it did not disappoint! Thank you! 🙂

A local favorite! I ordered a BLT sub, chips and a bowl of chicken noodle soup and my fiance had a 9in personal pizza with sausage, green peppers and onions. Both were outstanding! So full of flavor and great portions, especially for the price! It’s tucked back off Vanderbilt St. but there’s a large white sign with an arrow pointing you in the right direction. They have unusual hours which I believe are listed on their website. Prices aren’t listed next to the items but can be found if you go to the order online tab.

Great rating but menu is off-putting. This many different items seems like their not sure what they want to be known for. Pizza places who make it difficult to even find them on their menu? All I saw was French bread pizza. Omg not attractive website. I’ll move on to something easier to use and pictures of food. Hot dogs? Seriously?

A Pizza yen is a landmark place to visit. They’ve been around for a very long time and make some awesome food. Everybody would know who they were if it wasn’t for City taking their property under eminent domain many years ago so if you happen to be in the area or have just never heard of it obviously you can see that I am giving them a roaring review.

I’ve been going to A Pizza Yen since I was a kid. They have my favorite coney dogs! I have lived out of state for the past decade but I always make it a point to go have lunch here when I am back in town. This place is a part of Portage history.
