I’ve tried my fair share of sandwiches, but A Jay’s Cheese Steaks in Morgan Hill is the real deal. I’ll be honest—I didn’t fully realize how incredible this meal was until I recently had a bad cheese steak elsewhere. It really made me appreciate the quality and care they put in here!
The Cheese Steak:
I went with the Classic with Cheese Wiz.
• The Meat: Excellent quality—tender, well-seasoned, and plentiful.
• The Toppings: The hot peppers were the perfect touch, adding just the right amount of kick to cut through the rich cheese wiz.
• The Bread: Held up perfectly to the generous fillings (check out my cross-section photos!).
The Sides:
While I didn’t snag a photo of the Curly Fries or the Mozzarella Sticks before they disappeared, they were absolutely phenomenal. ‘Killer’ is the only way to describe them—perfectly crispy and a must-order alongside your sub.
The Verdict:
If you want a meal that hits the spot every single time, this is it. Great meat, great cheese, and those killer sides make this a 5-star destination in Morgan Hill. Don’t settle for a subpar steak—come here first!

Everything here is absolutely delicious, from the classic original cheesesteak to the burgers and sides. Can tell high quality ingredients are used. The house-made sauces are next level, and you can taste the freshness in every bite. Gotta try the garlic fries and pair them with the white sauce, it’s simply outstanding.
The staff is quick and super friendly, always a great experience. Highly recommend.

ordered thru the app for scheduled takeout. It was made right in time. ordered hot & sweet peppers on the side. came home and there was none. which was really disappointing.
sandwich is pretty good. ordered the king size which is the 12″ with stuffed with meat and it had a lot of meat.

Chips and fish are great. Both well fried and crispy, salt is just right. Lack of homemade tartar sauce, vinegar, and slaw make it the score it is.
Otherwise the sandwiches are GREAT. Can swap out the bread for other types.

I was hungry and randomly drove by this spot around dinner time. Ordered a cheesesteak hoagie for $18 bucks
Plus tip. My sandwich wasn’t even a foot long for 18 bucks, that’s a rip off. The sandwich itself was mids. They were playing loud Mexican music so I thought the food would come out good but it wasn’t. Now I’m on here writing a bad review cause it wasn’t worth the money. Amattos off curtner got the best cheesesteaks in the South Bay and if you’re in Oakland go to Ib’s. If you’re in Morgan hill skip ajays. ️

I was recommended here by someone after we talked about good food places. After hearing about it, my family and I decided to take a trip this past Thursday! After ordering 3 items, the total was about $60 which was quite steep considering we only ordered the basic Philly. It took quite some time to eventually get our order but I would consider it worth it. It was neatly wrapped and warm with amazing flavor. The bread was thin, which is much better than thick bread and melted in your mouth with the steak and cheese. With a side order of tater tots, they were crisp and delicious, highly addicting! I would recommend coming here if you don’t mind spending about $15-20 for yourself.

Received great customer service. Young guy taking our order was very welcoming. Food is freshly grilled to order so prepare to wait a little, well worth it btw. I got the pepper steak cheese steak mmm! Everything in it was hot, cheesy and tender. Garlic fries literally has minced garlic and A LOT of it. I don’t recommend eating these on a first date…..
