Was given a dirty fork to eat with. Carbonara had large chunks of unmixed egg (see photos). Greasy (see photos). Waitress forgot to get me a new fork when she took the old one along with the food I sent back. Her service was uncourteous and bad. The dish they gave me as a replacement (penne pasta) was better but still underwhelming. I left most of it there on the table.
HOWEVER the kindly woman at the register did get me a new meal without me asking (she simply asked how the food was and I said I didn’t like it). So we’re bumping this up from a 1 star to a 2 star review because of her courteousness.

We ordered 3 steak and cheese subs for take out. Got home and there was mold on one of the sub rolls so our kids no longer wanted to eat their subs, because they were disgusted. We attempted to call the restaurant that night, but they had closed. When we called the next day we were told the bread is made fresh everyday, and then told by the manager the bread is made every other day. We were then told to bring the subs back for a refund. We never received the full refund amount, nor did we ever receive an apology for the molded food. We actually received horrible service as if we were lying. We won’t ever be returning and I certainly don’t and won’t ever recommend to anyone.

We only got Calamari and Cheese Fries. The calamari was good. I would NOT recommend getting the cheese fries – they were very basic and bland.

We’ve been eating here at this restaurant for years and years and it remains one of the best Italian restaurants and staples here in Mechanicsville for the service, food quality and price range. Always a solid go-to choice when thinking over what to have for dinner! The subs tonight were just perfect the bread was so soft and the outside crispy after being lightly toasted. The cheese melted to perfection over the meats and the lettuce and tomatoes were excellent! I should’ve taken a picture of the usual sub before there was nothing left! Anyways, I had to give a review for 5 stars. Thank you all so much for a delicious meal this evening. Great work, flavor was incredible and service professional as always. Love you all for all you have done and continue to do for our family and friends. Keep on keeping on! Thank y’all so much look forward to seeing you next time.

Daggone, Anna’s! Been eating here a long time. The pizza we ordered (which was ordered 1.5 hours before scheduled arrival) was not even cooked. What we picked up was not hot or fresh. No taste. How can that be? We live less than 2 minutes away. Within walking distance. Been noticing for some time the food was sub par. That pizza was your last you will make for us. Totally inedible $27/garbage! Mechanicsville has lots of Italian choices. Your restaurant will not be one of them!

I had my baby shower here yesterday and had an opportunity to try the food for the first time and it was nothing short of a great experience. We had salads, rolls, fettuccine and lasagna. The flavor is wonderful, truly Italian. The room for a gathering was also very nice. I highly recommend Anna’s for your party needs or just general Italian dining.

My table got a 16″ meat lovers and a philly steak. The pizza was ok at best. There was way too much cheese, so much so that we had to pick off a significant amount of cheese from each slice. The sausage was super salty and we had to pick that off the pizza too.We ended up with three relatively large piles of discarded cheese and sausage. The pizza reminded us of a ridiculously more expensive and slightly less tasty than a Totinos pizza. Despite the many toppings, it lacked a good flavor. The philly steak was alright. There really wasn’t anything special about it either. However, the fries were good. The waitress we had seemed uninterested in whether we were enjoying our food. I tried to engage with her about it and shared with her that the pizza was too cheesy and the sausage was too salty and her response was “ok” and she immediately walked away.
They were fairly busy and people seemed to be getting more pasta than pizza. Perhaps that is what we should get if we ever go back.

Food Great Service, as always not so great..my meal showed up incorrectly, she said a few minutes it woupd be corrected…and everyone else had long finished eating before it was brought.
