Five stars for the history, simplicity, friendliness and cold beer. I’m not going there asking for an old fashioned or margarita. But after a break in driving, or enjoying the river, this bar is it. The bar is as old as the state, survived a fire and continues to operate.

I give Kuk’s five stars for authenticity. Kuk’s not only looks older, it is older than anybody who can muscle up to the bar. I like the service as well. They go out of their way to make a relatively new-comer like myself feel special over these last 17 years. Europeans enjoy finding places like Kuk’s for it’s cinematic qualities. Since you won’t be overwhelmed by televisions or jukeboxes, chances are you’ll have a little chat with someone, often Canadian. Easy parking, WiFi, the joint is packed on Taco Tuesdays.

The place is really cool and the lady who runs it is sweet. Go somewhere else for food.

Stopped in for some beer and food. Sadly, the food selection was either heated frozen pizza or corn dogs. However, the staff, and a local, were very friendly and it was still worth the stop to see this historical place.
