The food is average. 2 stars because I ordered a seafood omelet and they used imitation crab. Near the ocean and a fresh seafood store right next to the Cafe, seriously?? Literally the next door over, 3 feet away.

The restaurant needs all new staff. My mother asked for a water and it took 3 requests to get a simple glass of water from asking multiple waitresses. The restaurant was maybe half full. We got our food. The waitress asked if we needed anything else? We asked for ketchup. Again, simple common request. Twice we reminded her and nothing. I got up and went to the front cashier. Im standing waiting patiently and the woman refuses to acknowledge me until I spoke asking for ketchup. Apparently, I interrupted her conversation with her friend on her cell phone. She was having a discussion about Walmart a credit card. Very disappointed with people who can’t handle the basics.

Second breakfast here in three days, because I’ve not stopped talking about the amazing Seafood Omelette(krab, shrimp, Swiss, and hollandaise sauce)!!! It was just as delicious the second time as well. I chose grits as a side(plain ) and dry Rye toast. Both visits my toast was toasted perfectly, and dry, so many places send out soaked with butter toast. Had coffee to drink. Total was $14.99 and $2.50, with tax coming in at $1.25.

Everyone raves about Cortez Cafe, the praise is well deserved do to location, food, speed you receive your order, and the friendly staff.

Great experience at the Cortez Cafe. The staff were all very friendly and accommodated a large group of us. The French dip was amazing. The meat was so tender and then flavor was perfect. My daughter loved the Mickey Mouse pancake and sausage. The French toast was also amazing. The size of the omelets were big. 10/10 recommend.

Adorable cafe that is the perfect spot for breakfast! We were able to get right in. Almost every table was already full! The portions were perfect, and the food was homestyle with unique twists on classic items. I enjoyed the veggie omelet, my mom had eggs, and my sister had french toast. The prices were good and the wait staff were friendly and efficient.

They say this is the number one place for locals, and while the food was good and the atmosphere was good, the price sort of screamed that I wanted the valet to be washing my car while I was inside eating. Nothing bad about the place, but I think I was just charged a little bit more than what I got.

It was a great local place run by a family for 60 years. They were nice but the food wasn’t great. I was hopeful based on reviews, and while I have no complaints, I personally would not go out of my way to go here.

Love these old timey restaurants that make you feel like you’re back in the fish town years for Cortez. I had the seafood omelet which came with crab, shrimp, Swiss and then topped with hollandaise. While it isn’t the same as the tried and true seafood omelet at Rod N Reel it was very tasty and packed with seafood. They also offer pork roll here which isn’t something I come across in most restaurants. Our waitress seemed a bit new, but my coffee never went empty and the other servers were always close by if we need anything.

The food here is so good!! We had breakfast while visiting some friends because the recommended it and we weren’t disappointed. The reuben sandwich was one of the best I have had here in Florida, and the Omelet my partner had was so tasteful, really good. The service was really good, a little slow that day, but it was because the restaurant was really full of people…well, it was a Sunady morning.

Small little place with good food and friendly service. I had the banana nut waffle, hubby had the country fried steak breakfast and kids had waffles. Hubbys was by far the best. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the waffle. But it was good. Just not great. But I tasted my husbands and it was really good! Eggs were great, steak was great, and grits were great.
