Full mediocrity. They may have been short staffed, but this typical Tuscaloosa mediocrity. The young man was mumbling and took my order between counters instead of behind a register. He wasn’t rude, just seemingly disinterested. The chicken sandwich was really disappointing. I’ve never tried Popeyes before and was hoping for better. It was clean, though!Oh well…
Gotta say a response in same day is good. Upped a star for atmosphere because of that and it really was clean proof is in the pics.

So I went through the drive through again today knowing better(30 minute wait last time) no body in the drive through no one in the place. Told twice to wait when I asked for someone to take my order. Drove away mad past two people wearing Popeyes shirts that were “socializing” outside the store…. Just close whoever is the owner doesn’t care. Need better!

I visited this location 2/7/26 @ 11:45, the employee at the window was very nice but when I pulled off at got to my location to eat my chicken, the breast were hard (not fresh), the macaroni is like the worker honestly took one scoop from a plastic fork & put it in the cup, I asked for an apple pie & bit into a strawberry cheesecake pie. I am & was pissed because I had an appt at the tint place & couldn’t go back in fear I’d lose my spot. NOT AGAIN!!!!

This is the first time I’ve ever eaten here. Ordered the 9 piece spicy tenders family meal, with large mashed potatoes and then got a large side of red beans and rice and dirty rice. They didn’t put the red beans and rice in the bag and I threw half the tenders in the trash as they were uneatable. I live 35 mins from the nearest Popeyes so it’s my fault for not checking the bag before I left. The tenders were flat, old, cold, hard, overcooked garbage and not spicy. The worst tenders I’ve ever had by far. The dirty rice was terrible, bland and unseasoned. Only thing worth eating was the mashed potatoes and the biscuits. I usually eat at Church’s and I guess I better stick with that. I don’t think I can give Popeyes another chance.

Twice, I ordered wings and they were so hard and dried up. They were like they had been cooked hours before. Today, my daughter stayed in the drive thru line for 25 minutes before someone even took the order. She got the order at the window and didn’t open the box to look at it since it was for me. When I got it and opened it up, the wings were so hard and dry. The two biscuits were hard as a rock. Tried calling the restaurant three times and no one would pick up.

We stopped by today to get Popeyes for my dad’s birthday. Since moving here from Florida, he hasn’t had it in a while, so we were excited to treat him.
We ordered a 12-piece meal, but a few of the side options weren’t available and we had to change sides a couple of times. We ended up with mac & cheese. When we got home, the containers were about half full and chicken was wasy overcooked, which was a little disappointing for the price.
I understand that busy days happen and items can run out. I’m hoping to come back another time for a better experience and would be happy to update this review with a higher rating.

Literally waited an hour for my food and did not even get it. Not even the drinks! So after about an hour and 30 minutes of waiting, I tried to cancel my order. They said they couldn’t refund me because I paid through the app. So I have no money and didn’t get my food. 0/10.

Mixed Bag at This Popeyes Location
This Popeyes is hit-or-miss. Sometimes the food is okay, but other times it’s just not worth it — small portions, poor taste, and questionable freshness. I recently visited a different Popeyes in Mississippi and the difference was huge: fresh, flavorful chicken and great portion sizes. It felt like I got real value for my money.
Customer service here is decent, especially with younger staff still learning, but I’ve decided to take a break from this location until things improve.

Ordered on line. When i got to the restaurant to pick my food up they tell me they don’t have the product to make. When i ask how to get a refund they told me i have to go online and it tells you there is not refund, But someone will get back with me at a later date so i have no food and no money.

Have heard good things about Popeyes and decided to try it. Chicken was okay but there were pieces of things on my chicken that should have been removed prior to cooking it. Hard to describe but I’m posting photos. Definitely won’t be back since there are many better options from other chicken places.
