That’s Dixie Pizza Wagon for me. Tucked on the side of the road in Hurricane, UT, this little pizza paradise is a true find. Who would’ve ever thought some of the most incredible wood-fired pizza I’ve ever had would be found on a wagon in Southern Utah? It’s the kind of place that makes a road trip worth it.
The moment you walk up, you can tell this isn’t your average pizza joint. The staff is genuinely friendly and passionate about what they do. They’re happy to chat and make recommendations, and their positive energy is contagious. You can see them preparing the pizzas with what are clearly the freshest ingredients. The vibrant colors of the vegetables and the quality of the meats are a testament to their commitment to making a top-notch pie.
While everything I’ve tried has been fantastic, the one I keep coming back for is the Chicken Bacon Ranch. It’s an absolute game-changer. The crust has that perfect wood-fired char and chew, the ranch isn’t overpowering, and the chicken and bacon are cooked to perfection. It’s a flavor explosion that is a must-try for any first-timer. But honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. If you’re anywhere near Hurricane, do yourself a huge favor and stop at Dixie Pizza Wagon. It’s a culinary experience you won’t soon forget!
3 cheese- love the feta addition, adds a tiny bit of saltiness but this pizza is packed with flavor
The Sicilian- That Italian sausage is delicious, reminds me of back east.
Margherita Pizza- Mozzarella block is fresh, basil and sauce was the perfect combo.
Pepperoni- Classic, simple and tasty!
If we are ever out in St. George again, Pizza Wagon is a must stop.
Lemonades were amazing, watching the employees work a fun gag, having options for other trucks to supplement our meal with a dessert, amazing.
Food and drink is high quality, worth the wait. The reason I’m leaving 2 stars is because if a consumer is willing to wait 2 hours for their food, it’s on you as a business to make damn sure their order is correct. Granted I’ll admit I’m partially at fault for not checking before I left, but if the receipt matched I trusted that after that amount of time our meal would be so worth the wait.
Wrong. All the way to our house and had to revisit them a third time to wait again to have the order corrected.
Take this review with a grain of salt though. Pizza was incredible, lemonade refreshing, and everything about the experience was damn near perfect.
I’m very sad to have been let down on our date night.
Thanks for reading.
I’m happy to say the new location is better, the online pre-ordering is better, and the pizza is pretty much just as good as before (and I’m picky), and the new lemonades are a great addition to the menu.
Recent reviewers seem to be upset about the price increases, but frankly they seem necessary. The previous owner was undercharging and had cheap labor from family members. The new owners have more staff, pay them better, and have a nicer location. Also, food costs have gone up a *lot* in the last couple of years. Since they didn’t want to switch to cheaper ingredients, something had to give.
Still great pizza, just not dirt cheap anymore. I’ll be back regardless.
