Takosushi Review
THIS CONVERGENCE OF TACOS AND SUSHI IS INSANE! Don’t let the name fool you—at first glance, you might think “Takosushi” is strictly Japanese, but it’s actually a genius play on taco and sushi—and yes, you really can have both.
We tried the Crazy Roll and loaded up on steak, chicken, and shrimp tacos. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The food alone deserves a return visit.
What truly set our experience apart was our amazing waitress, Caroline. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming. My daughter is an incoming freshman, and Caroline went above and beyond—offering helpful advice, tips on college life, and answering all of her questions with so much kindness and patience. She made our daughter feel excited and at ease about starting this new chapter.
The restaurant itself was spotless, the vibe was relaxed, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and variety.
Caroline made the whole visit a 10+. We’ll definitely be back!
After leaving the restaurant, the general manager, Jeff, chased me and my guest down to our car to confront us about allegedly leaving a $0.35 tip. Before we could even respond or correct him, he abruptly turned around and scurried back inside the restaurant.
We followed him back in to understand what on earth justified such unprofessional behavior, only to find that Jeff completely avoided the situation and left the bartender to do damage control for a confrontation he created.
In reality, our table tipped well over 20% per person. The issue was entirely due to staff error: the bartender looked at someone else’s ticket that was not part of our party and incorrectly assumed no tip was left, despite the fact that she had already kept a cash tip from one person in our group.
This was a miserable, humiliating, and completely unnecessary experience. There is absolutely no scenario in which it is appropriate or acceptable for a general manager to chase customers to their car over a perceived tipping issue. Even if no tip had been left, which is not the case, this behavior is outrageous and wildly unprofessional.
I am beyond disappointed and would appreciate contact from upper management or ownership regarding this incident. A general manager should demonstrate emotional control, professionalism, and leadership; not impulsive, confrontational behavior that embarrasses paying customers.
This experience has seriously damaged my trust in this establishment.
