Ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. Enjoyed the crispy bacon and the red salsa. Next time I’m gonna add fries and beans to my bacon breakfast burrito. Service was very friendly. Parking is tight, dining area isn’t huge.

Benny always hits the spot. This neighborhood authentic Mexi spot is no frills and, thus, cheaper than any other i know in SD. They take credit cards and add a small fee.

Quick taco preparations by the 2 guys who excels with what they are doing. Food is prepared in front of you quickly but with awesome taste of the pico de Gallo for the fish tacos. Al pastor’s flavor is on point as well as the Birria taco. Quality food and service. Well recommended too

I’ve had the Bean & Cheese burrito and the cheese burger and it hit the spot, both red and green salsa’s are great but I prefer the red or mixing both, parking can be a bit tight but what a great spot, I would recommend trying them out.

I order a carne con chile colorado burrito. Taste was good but you could tell the meat was old and dry. Like they just added to chile colorado sauce and there you go, instead of having a actual dish cooked of carne with chile colorado. I’m still giving them 4 stars cuz other than that I like the place.

In my exploration of the breakfast burrito in southern California I’ve noticed another Google maps category error, which is calling taco shops/taco stands “Mexican restaurant.” Technically a taco shop is a sub category of Mexican restaurant, but practically they are two radically different enterprises.
A Mexcian restaurant is, first of all, a restaurant, not a fast food stand. Table service is normal. You are given or rake a menu. The food is served on a plate, with silverware. You can probably get a beer with your meal.
A taco shop/stand, on the other hand, typically has no table service, just a walk up cashier. There may be few or no indoor seats, and the interior is at best, austere. If you get an order for here at a taco shop, it comes on a tray with plastic silverware. The menu and ingredients at a taco stand are going to be limited.
Those are two different categories. Benny’s has been around forever but this is my first time through after i realized they serve breakfast burritos here. I got the bacon burrito. It had eggs, a lot of bacon and cheese. The tortilla was a standard flour burrito tortilla. All the bacon was nice but the absence of potatoes made a heavy eating experience. Probably would not recommend it.

One of the few Mexican spots in the area. Went here and it was busy. Ordered an assortment of food to be honest the tacos were very over priced coming in at around $5 a taco they were big tacos though. Waited for quite a while which was cool because I got to watch the Spacex launch but was here Atleast 30 mins. The food was healthy tasting but not savory at all.

Very good taco shop. My wife and I stopped in here on our way to the zoo and got breakfast burritos, they were delicious. Everyone was so nice it made our experience more enjoyable. Don’t judge a book by its cover, the food and people here are excellent.

Its probably my favorite taco shop for maybe the last 15 years. The food is really consistent and good and the people there are nice.
