Visited for 1st time the other night & overall had a good experience. Service was very attentive and friendly. The decor of the restaurant is decent but the colors are somewhat distracting & having a giant TV playing music videos intermittently was a little awkward. As far as the food, everything was fresh, cooked well, came out in a timely manner & portions were a solid value. Our only slight hiccup was that both dishes could’ve been seasoned a little more aggressively which we felt would’ve taken them from good to great. This isn’t enough to stop us from returning though, so we’ll likely visit again sometime ✌

So delicious! We went during Ramadan so obviously they were pretty swamped with catering and orders. Despite this, they were very generous and accommodating! Our server was amazing as well.

Absolutely delicious meal. The spanakopita was light, crispy and buttery, the vinaigrette on the salad was so good, the gyros were fantastic (with tzatziki that my daughter and I agreed was “fire”), the falafel was better than any I have ever tasted, and the baklava? This chef really knows how to work with phyllo dough. The prices are reasonable and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They could use a few plants and artwork on the walls, but the bar area is super cute and those orange walls are iconic. We will definitely be back.

I wanted to love this place so bad. It’s beautiful however, the food was just not
Cutting it. Tzatziki sauce was too thick. Every dish was bitter with not much flavor otherwise. Rice was undercooked while the gyro meat and falafel were over cooked. They got my pickup order wrong and when I called to let them
Know they insisted that everything was in the bag. But I took a photo. Either way, the process to receive a refund seemed too unsure or difficult for the staff member and I didn’t feel like going back to get it remade and was told picking it up another day may not be an option. Also, I was excited to try the drinks there and actually sit down and eat in but they had the bar closed all day because the bartender called out sick. I went on a Wednesday night around 6:40pm and it was dead.

Oh my! This is a must try! I went early in the day around 3:30 pm. There was no wait. The service was amazing! I am new to town and they welcomed me and gave me great ideas! The food was so delicious I got a gyro salad and the meat was so good. Dressing was spot on and very reminiscent of my stay in Greece. I also had the spinach dip as an appetizer and it was delectable! The building was also really cute and fun! Highly recommend!

Stopped in for lunch at Lava Bar. The staff was super nice and very accommodating. I read about the falafel being the best, so my mind was set on some falafel, but sadly, it was not available at the time. Settled on beef and lamb shawarma wrap that ultimately needed more seasoning. Was able to sub the fries for another side, so that was a plus, too. I will have to try it again to get a better feel for this very large and very nice-looking restaurant and bar.

First time eating here and it was wonderful. I had the shwarna beef and lamb (pictured) and my wife had the vegetable kabobs. Everything had a great flavor and Ryan was very knowledgeable about the menu items and was quick to offer options when he found out they were out of rice. The prices were very reasonable fir the amount of food we got. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit Lava Mediterranean bar and restaurant again!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at a newly opened establishment, and despite its recent launch, we were thoroughly impressed by the experience. This venue specializes in Mediterranean and American cuisine, offering a diverse menu featuring appetizers, soups, salads, kabab skewers, pasta, seafood, burgers, wraps, steaks, and a kids’ menu. In addition to their culinary offerings, the establishment boasts a full bar with an extensive cocktail selection and a separate hookah lounge.

During our visit, I was impressed by the vibrant ambiance, characterized by fiery hues reminiscent of lava, and the beautiful light fixtures that adorned the space. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, Dest, who took the time to acquaint us with the establishment. Our server, Isabella, exhibited remarkable energy and attentiveness throughout our meal, providing excellent service and addressing any inquiries we had about the menu.

I ordered a Mojito, which was expertly crafted and among the best I’ve had in recent memory. I had the opportunity to meet Sarah, the talented mixologist responsible for this delightful concoction, who was both engaging and eager to share her experiences as a bartender.

For our meal, we opted for a gyro wrap and Shawarma chicken, both of which were delectable choices. I was pleased to find that the accompanying fries were served piping hot. As we explored the premises, it became evident that the establishment holds great promise. The hookah lounge, in particular, offered a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with a wide selection of options for enthusiasts.

The owner, Peter, took the time to chat with us, displaying a genuine interest in our feedback and suggestions. I envision this establishment becoming a popular destination for dining, drinks, dancing, or enjoying a leisurely hookah session. Despite the inclusion of a hookah lounge, the establishment remains family-friendly, with a separate area designated for hookah.

Conveniently located near the downtown area and WKU campus, this establishment is sure to attract a diverse range of patrons. Overall, my experience at this newly opened spot was nothing short of delightful, and I eagerly anticipate future visits. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this spot!!
