Namekeen in Metuchen, New Jersey is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere stands out with its Pakistani-themed design that feels nostalgic, warm, and thoughtfully curated. The artwork is beautiful, the space is very spacious, and it’s a great place to sit back and actually enjoy your meal.
We ordered the Clutch Waffle, Tikka Melt, and tenders, and everything was full of bold flavor. The spice level is legit—perfectly balanced and not toned down, which was a huge plus. Each dish was well-prepared and satisfying, making it clear that attention to detail goes into the food.
The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. Parking is also super convenient with a lot located right to the side near the train station, which makes stopping by easy.
Overall, Namekeen delivers on great food, excellent vibes, and solid service. Whether you’re coming for a casual meal or showing friends a spot with personality and culture, this place is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend and will absolutely be returning.

First time here. The consistency of the food in terms of crunch and juiciness very good the first flavor is great but then the heat gets you. The mild was very hot at least for me. I had to order a milkshake just to be able to eat the food. The smash burger was great. This place is very clean and if you like heat when you eat this is the place for you.

Namkeen absolutely nailed the Nashville hot chicken sandwich! But that’s not the only thing amazing on menu – from the clucking waffle sandwich to smash burger, everything was phenomenal. The loaded fries were a hit, too! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, insanely juicy on the inside, and the spice levels are no joke—fiery but flavorful, never overpowering. The dessert waffles were delish – my husband devoured almost the whole thing!
The vibe is just as good as the food—welcoming, energetic, and clearly driven by passion – I absolutely love the Pakistani touch!!!! Namkeen delivers every single time. Highly recommend for a family outing.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish had its own distinct flavor profile, and the chicken was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside with a crisp exterior. The waffles stayed wonderfully crunchy, and the jalapeños baked into them were my favorite touch. The kulfi shake was rich and creamy, and the waffles topped with kulfi ice cream were an absolute delight.

I tried their wings today (bone in and boneless) and I was blown away!!! Not only was the flavor amazing, but the size of those wings were enormous!!!

Visited this halal restaurant for the very first time. Food is amazing with generous portions. If you are a medium eater, waffle chicken sandwich is a great option enough for 2 people. They have a smaller menu (easier to decide what to eat) with pictures on the screen to order. Tipping is optional. Lots of seating space. Music was a bit loud for me but overall excellent place and experience. Be prepared to parallel park

Tried it for the first time, and it was amazing! The fried chick was super crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The sauce was rich and flavorful with just the right spice, and the coleslaw added a nice crunch. The toasted bread was buttery and fresh, everything came together perfectly. It was a big, satisfying meal and definitely worth it. I’ll be coming back for sure!

So I’ll start with what went right ..
Chicken + Waffle $16.99 – 4 stars
The chicken was crispy and hot the waffle was burnt and I had to ask for a replacement waffle which they replaced and it was delicious. However upon asking for an extra syrup I was told no or they would have to charge me $1 extra .. I’m sorry after paying almost $50 for two people to dine I had to decline.
Tikachicken Sandwich $11-13.99 ? 3 stars
The sandwich was edible however it was so spicy you couldn’t really enjoy the chicken. It was made fresh but the sauces over powered the chicken.
Regular French Fries $5.99-6.99 great fries not too crispy not too salty
Refresher – $6.99 ZERO STARS the drink was all ice no flavor it was horrible would not purchase that again.
Upon walking in the place was empty it was after 10pm so I didn’t expect a crowd. The music choice I was not happy with as they played offensive music using the N word. The cashier was friendly and he answered all of our questions. The food was made to order and was fresh. I did enjoy the food overall. I don’t think I would dine here again. The tables were dirty so we had to wipe them down our selves which I feel like we shouldn’t have to do especially because the place was empty.
They do offer tap water which was very tasty for people who like to drink water.

i wish i lived locally so i could come here more often! the nashville sandwich was delicious and perfectly spicy and the chicken was fried to perfection! the sauce was also to die for. the mint mojito was also really refreshing against the spice – all in all a great bite!

If you’re in the Metuchen area and looking for incredible 100% Halal food, Namkeen is the place to be. I recently visited and was thoroughly impressed by every aspect of the meal.
The Food:
Everything we ordered was prepared to
perfection. Here’s the breakdown:
• Tikkavilla Sandwich: Bold flavors and perfectly cooked.
• Dhamaka Fries & Classic Fries: Crispy, well-seasoned, and addictive.
• Tenders: Juicy and high-quality.
• Cookies & Cream Milkshake: The perfect sweet finish to a savory meal.
The portions are very reasonable given the price point—you definitely feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.
Atmosphere & Service:
The restaurant itself is notably clean and well-maintained, which makes for a great dining environment. What really stood out, though, was the customer service. The cashier was incredibly patient with us while we decided, which we truly appreciated.
The only downside to this location is that parking can be very difficult to find in this specific area.
I’d recommend giving yourself a few extra minutes to hunt for a spot—it is 100% worth the effort!
