Killer roast beef sandwiches since 1967. The recipe for our famous roast beef sandwich is simple: 100% real top round beef. Slow roasted on-site for three hours. Shaved extra thin. Served medium rare on a lightly toasted buttered bun. And topped with a dash of secret seasoning. It’s the same way we’ve done it for over 50 years. Voted Best Fries by St. Louis Magazine.

Counter-serve chain specializing in slow-roasted beef sandwiches served hot on toasted buns.

For a fast food joint this place rocks. If there was places like this back home I would eat there all the time. The roast beef is real meat and not the processed stuff I get at a competitor. If you have a “Lions Choice” by you give it a try, you won’t regret it.

The beef speaks for itself as we all know. This location will not let you down. The service is top notch, the place is kept in tip top shape, and clean. I like seeing the same friendly faces week after week, it makes it a little more chill. Fix that sauce pump or I’m taking a star away. Lol

Seemed like just one dude was working by himself on the weekend at dinner. He was friendly and all, but my roast beef sandwiches were mostly brown. Everyone in STL knows Lion’s Choice is bright red. This was that 1 in 10 visits where it wasn’t what I have come to expect. It happens, but I often spend nearly $30 just for ME to eat there. I expect a high level of quality for that price.

Ordered 3 different sandwiches tonight and I don’t know what went wrong but they were so salty they were inedible. I mean, SATURATED. I don’t expect perfection when ordering out, but these were completely inedible because of how salty they were. Tried to call twice to make the manager aware and ended up only getting an answering machine. I can only assume they are busy refilling the salt shakers. About $50 wasted, just to have to turn around and order a pizza. Horrible!

1st time hearing of and trying Lion’s Choice. I was really impressed by this roast beef fast food chain based out of St Louis. I really enjoyed the Au Jus station with different peppers and sauces. I love free banana peppers. The sandwich was quick and tasty. The fry seasoning was great. I will definitely have it again next time I swing through the St Louis area.

Great online allergen guide for the kids.

I’ve only eaten here a few times in my entire life because it’s always been out of my price range. I came here around 11pm and was pleasantly surprised they was still open. 2 sandwiches cost me close to $20. I ordered the French dip roast beef but didn’t receive the aujus that was supposed to come with it, that was very disappointing. Other than that the roast beef was medium rare just like I like it. As expected the beef here is better than Arby’s, but in my humble opinion not really worth double the price.

Read whole post please: I love LC. Have been eating there since I could drive. Over 40 years. I was happy when this one was built. Typically LC Roast Beef is the bomb and makes Arby’s look like rubber. Tonight the wife and I went. The meal was two meals and I got an extra king beef. It was $36. That is what it is. The service was very good. The staff was friendly and we got our food fast. The place was basically pretty clean. The ketchup dispenser was a mess but it was not working right. Not a big deal. My issue was the food itself tonight. I ordered two king beefs. There is a picture of what they show. I know you never get what is in the picture, but at LC you usually get a nice thick Sammy. Look at the picture of what I received. That was roast beef mush with the amount of “meat” I would expect on a regular sandwich. Trust me I have ordered my fair share and know what I should have gotten. The buns did not have sesame seeds as they usually do. I think they bought hamburger buns from the grocery store. The bun was wet and soggy. Pretty gross. Then when I was eating the fries they were the same. I did not feel like saying anything would help or change anything. I also don’t like complaining because I am not a freeloader looking for some discount. Be aware at this location. You may not be getting what you pay for. I will try another location in the next few weeks and see if it is an LC thing and they are heading the way of Steak N Shake or is it just the one by my house. I am hopeful they are not going backwards because I really like the old school LC.

Imagine closing the dining room before 6:30 P.M. when you’re supposed to be open until 7 P.M. Imagine the worker, Ceera, being completely ignorant and when you decide to use the drive through instead. Imagine being told you can’t use reward points on your purchase. I know first world problems right? Bottom line, the workers at this restaurant are an absolute joke. It is embarrassing the standards this location accepts.

Just look at the pictures? This is the quality of food they provide at this trash location.
Looks like Ceera overcooked my sandwich for about 10 minutes, put 1/4 the meat inside, and then sat on it before placing it in the bag.

Ceera, get a new job.
I plan on never returning.

0/5.

I always feel bad leaving a less then stellar review but on multiple occasions this place has been not the best experience. I have been multiple times now and the food is always good enough, but it always takes a minute or two for someone to even come up to the register to take an order (it might be easier to just order online if I ever go again). When we came in it took a few minutes for someone to come to the register and there was an employee with their head down in the dining area- understanding they may have been on break I didn’t think of anything till they took a drive through order on a headset from the dining area- Once we got our order taken we got the food pretty quickly. Overall I know that this location used to have a lot better service and experience which is to bad because I grew up on lions choice as a kid and loved it- but the food was good the experience just left more to be desired.

I would recommend maybe just having screens people can order on if their staff is not going to be available to take orders- this may save money on staffing and make the experience better for customers.

The manager mentioned local stores have donated over $16 grand to the local May 16th Tornado Relief Effort. – Kudos

I always love their Hot Italian Roast Beef Sandwiches.

We have a miserable Heat Dome hanging over the area and it was too hot to shop or cook. After running a minimal few errands, I stopped by Lion’s Choice on the way home. Tasty as ever.
