This place has such an authentic and cozy vibe with cute fireplaces inside to keep you warm. They start you off with warm bread served with oil, cheese, and pepper which was so good. The drink menu is really unique too. We tried the Caramel Apple Martini and the Chocolatini, and both were amazing.
We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, which was pretty good, but the pasta truly stole the show. We got the Shrimp alla Vodka and the Shrimp Alfredo (subbed with chicken), and both were absolutely out of this world. The pasta was incredibly fresh, and the vodka sauce was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Even the fish was perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
The service was excellent and they even packaged our leftovers for us at the table. Prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food and experience.
They also have a nice patio that’s great for sitting outside on a nice night, and the service is always friendly and on point.
If you’re craving Italian on Shore Drive, this is the place. Consistent, cozy, and absolutely delicious.
Our waitress could not care less about being there. We ordered a greek salad to start, dressing on the side. The dressing was on the salad, low quality dry feta, and there was a massive amount of dried oregano poured on the top. It was all you could taste. We then ordered the eggplant parm with penne aglio olio on the side. It came out with spaghetti. When the waitress came back with the penne, it was just overcooked penne with breadcrumbs. There was zero olive oil or garlic. Their eggplant used to be beautiful thin slices of eggplant with a light crispy breading. They have now changed their breading to a very thick heavy breading. I paid $23 for breading parmigiana. You could not even taste eggplant.
What a disappointment. We have been going here for dates for years. I was getting tired of always getting seated in the lobby (we are always told we can not be moved when asked), but now that the food is terrible too, there is no reason to return.
I ordered the Veal Saltimbocco which did not disappoint. It was tender and topped with prosciutto and cheese. Yum!!! My husband ordered the cheese tortellini with Bolognese sauce. He thought it was delicious and ate the entire dish which was a generous portion.
An added bonus was that the wine was on special so we only paid half price for a decent bottle of wine. The service was also very good. The place was packed so the volume of noise was a little loud but that’s to be expected when a place is this good.
For context.. I actually decided while we waited 35-40 min for our food to get an appetizer to come out with my food.. but the waitress doesn’t know that because she never came to check up on us u til just before our food came out …
Didn’t ask if I wanted another glass of wine.. nothing .. if nothing else as a business I would be asking if you want another cocktail , anything.
The lasagna my wife got was very burnt on top and crusted , and what I expected I would have gotten if I ordered a main entree..
The only reason we came here was because coastal grille down the street was booked.. take the 3 mile drive and go there instead.. it’ll be worth it
