The Pitchfork Fondue was a unique and fun dining experience set on a stage with an absolutely stunning view of the surrounding area. The steaks were what we expected since they were essentially fried. We noted that the dining “host” reminded the visitors frequently that the event staff would “make it right” if you didn’t like how your steak was cooked. The buffet offered plenty of side dishes and we walked away full.
We highly recommend going to the Pitchfork Fondue if you are looking for a fun and unique experience in a great setting. (However, this might not be for you if you are expecting the finest steak grilled to your specific taste.)

It is a super fun experience. Food is okay but super cool how they cook the steaks and the views are worth every penny.

Good times! Food was great and entertainment was fun. Would have loved to actually have seen some pitchforked steaks being cooked in the oil! Would definitely do this again!

This dinner was part of an all over amazing day at Medora. It was like the preview to their famous summer evening musical. They cook multiple steaks on a pitchfork and have the food/sides line to go through first. Texas toast, baked potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans, fruit, cold veggies. We each got a 10oz steak (plenty). Drinks included were lemonade, water or coffee. They had alcohol for purchase.
Dessert was mini donuts or brownies.
Plenty of seating with live music that was not overwhelming. And the view!!!! We all sat at the top of the hill with amazing views and the rainy weather cleared in time for dinner. A fabulous time an we were set for the rest of the night.

Our family had a great time at this dinner. There was a great sense of community, fun musical entertainment and an interesting take on a steak dinner. It’s a really fun experience! He only point of constructive criticism I have is that the music was turned up too loud and it was difficult to have a conversation. Turn it down about 50% and it will make for a much more pleasant atmosphere for all. Thanks for the great experience!

I came in with quite high expectations after paying $50 to get in for the steak meal. Unfortunately, my expectations weren’t met. The steak itself was very good, but I found the buffet to be lacking in options. They offer beans, garlic bread, baked potatoes, cole slaw, and a couple of other options as side courses. I found there to be a notable lack of fresh fruits/veggies and dressings – I understand that it is hard to get fresh produce out to such a rural area, but I also paid a whole lot of money to get in.
I can’t speak about the fondue without speaking about the view, though – you get to eat and see beautiful views of the buttes and the live music is awesome.

With the steak meal you get a 12oz New York strip, baked potato, baked beans, coleslaw, garlic bread, fruit, vegetables, and a brownie. Lemonade and water are no extra charge but soda, beer and wine are. The steaks are dipped in hot oil to cook them. They were between medium and medium well. Tasted great. The rest of the food was pretty straight forward. They always have a musical act while dinner service is going on and it’s surrounded by the badlands so the scenery is great.

We enjoyed the steak meal with fixings and also the hot dog meal with fixings. The food overall is about average – but the ambiance and live music made the ticket price worthwhile.

What a view of the park when you eat dinner outside in Medora. The views are incredible. The staff was very organized and people got served quickly and orderly. I thought the food was delicious. Many free beverages available but also a cash bar. The live guitar music was fun too. Just a great dining experience. Enjoyed it very much.
